Is it possible that one or more of the new fuel injectors is blocked or at least partially blocked? I would imagine this would present the symptoms discussed.

What's your complete mod list? Does Bryan have a chart showing the boost curve? Also, where is the boost being measured (manifold or compressor outlet)?

Was anything else changed during the turbo swap?

If you're making the proper levels of boost, but the power is way down, then I suspect the issue is elsewhere.

Overall, the turbo is relatively simple in operation, and one going bad doesn't really exhibit the symptoms your car is showing that I'm aware of. Maybe there's an exhaust leak between the mani/head or mani/turbo?

Possible issue with MAF sensor? Compressor inlet elbow on correctly with the o-ring?
I installed a new FMIC, LICP, Injectors, and a K&N cone filter. The injectors don't seem to be the issue as I was driving with them for a few days before the turbo went on and there weren't any issues.

Boost is being measured at the FPR.

I'm sure he'll be in contact with you at some point this week...we're completely stumped.

Wonder if something was cracked/warped/stripped during install and you are leaking air from a fitting or mating surface somewhere? Problem seems really odd ... especially to be down in power from the stock turbo like that.

One thing that came to mind to me tonight is that I installed a Forge WGA on the turbo before the install...I also have the GST boost pill installed. So...I'm thinking that the system may be holding too much pressure?

On the drive home from the dyno session the car was surging a lot even at very low boost pressure. I wasn't getting any CELs and the car wasn't misfiring at all. Just a thought, any insight guys?

I had a forged wastegate with the GST boost pill and the car ran with no problems. Hey Mike call me for some details I think I thought of something that might be affecting the way your car is.

I'd definitely pull the WGA for the surging. I would assume the boost pill is unnecessary for a turbo that big, but Bryan would know better than anyone, as its his pill.

Hmmm, this is interesting. The boost pill should be a good thing. It should be a larger size so you'll be able to hold more boost up top. You might want to check to see what spring you're using on the Forge or if the preload is strong enough. That might be why you're not holding your boost.

why use a boost pill? This turbo will have absolutely no problem holding boost up top...

What makes you say that? The 30R had issues holding boost up top on evos....

This isn't a normal 30r. it is a twin scroll built specifically for the Evo X. If the turbo can't hold boost up top then garrett didn't do their job.

Garrett spent a lot of money to produce this turbo seeing that it is car specific and i doubt they let a fact of holding boost up top slip past their R&D team...

They knew the potential of building this turbo and I assure you they weren't going to release a product that wasn't going to live up to the hype.

take the pill out, the Forge WGA should have no problems with the red spring.

Well, I had some other ideas of what the problem may be...do any of you know if the MAF can be malfunctioning without throwing CELs?

I know this is going to sound stupid...but the MAF housing was dropped on the shop floor while installing a cone filter prior to the dyno. Could this be the possible cause for all of my problems? The car isn't throwing any codes...just acting like the ECU is completely confused.
