Question AMS Intake System?

Considering getting the AMS intake system.

1. Will this void my warranty?
2. Can the SST handle the power?
3. Difficulty of installation?
4. Recomendations of other brands?

Also considering just getting a K&N air filter...

1. Most probably, but you could always just reinstall your stock when you go to the dealer
2. Yes
3. Easy
4. HKS, ARC, Gruppe M, BR, heard good things about other brands too, a quick search will do the trick

it didnt void my warranty, and the sst can easily just handle an intake, it sounds great. it's not too bad to install.... just annoying having to get you hand to unscrew things way down.

AFE intake looks good and it's decently priced, $195 most places.

I definitely recommend the AMS intake, it's very high quality and works/looks great! It comes with a K+N cone filter too by the way.

bump for the intake...real easy to intall andthe power is noticable without a tune the warranty issue is really up to your dealer but there is some WARRANTY LOOP HOLE and an actual document stating this...it says something along the lines of "The only way a warranty can be voided is if there is a aftermarket part thats not approved by the dealership on the part thats broken" so therefore if you blow your motor they cant void it cause of suspension!

Its not a loop hole. Its called the Magnusson-Moss Act. Its only applicable if you have enough money to hire a lawyer to argue for the difference. Most of the time that will cost more than the parts you needed to be fixed in the first place.

If you end up going with the AMS CAI, don't forget the matching UICP as well. I just installed the UICP myself on my GSR...

Thanks.

AMS seems to make quality products. Fit & finish for this UICP were perfect, but no instrutions were included. Took me all of 20 minutes to install, just remember to use the trick of going through the front grill with your 10mm socket / 12" extention to break the connection at the FMIC. The hardest part was removing the stock UICP connection near the firewall. 10 minutes of tugging because I didn't want to cut the tube.

I installed the AMS intake about 3 weeks ago...and I love it! Sounds and performs awesome!

I also have the FMIC, upper pipe, lower pipe, mbc on the way...AMS = quality.

Talking

The Evo X I went for a rip in had the AMS w/heatshield and it pulled way harder then my stock GSR. I like that one and the Harmon Motive intake as well.
