Long term review Ultimate Racing Exhaust

So I just found out the hard way that my Ultimate Racing exhaust DOES NOT MATE UP with the stock Cat. The end flange holes are farther apart than the stock holes/thread.

I had to put the stock cat back in and it doesnt line up with the flanges. On another note, the o2/dp combo from UR also has some design flaws. Because the flex joint is so close to end flange, it makes it impossible for you to mount the stock cat back because the is not enough clearance for the stock studs/bolts on the cat.

So aside from the quality build of the exhaust itself, I just wanted to point these two flaws out in case you wanted to go back to the stock exhaust and/or cat temporarily...

PS. sorry for the rant, I just waisted a lot of time under the car discovering this.

^thank you. YES, this is specific to the long dp/o2 combo housing... WHY IS THIS AN IMPORTANT THING TO POINT OUT?

Because the dp/o2 housing is not exactly the EASIEST thing to swap out... so this will prove to be a problem down the road should you want to go back to the stock cat (for ref reasons, whatever).... Believe, me. You will be CURSING ALOT should you ever need to go back to stock.

I concur. It is just a PITA to swap the O2 downpipe on this car, I would NEVER want to do this a second time around and paying a shop to do it won`t be cheap either. There has already been some horror stories on cracking O2 downpipes, I would be pissed if I was one of the owners.

Sucks to hear this, if you cannot figure a way around it but still wanted an O2 downpipe upgrade, look into ETS. Mine bolts directly to my HKS catalyzer (which has the same connect location as stock cat) and perfect fitment.

The catback DOES mate up with the factory cat. All you need to do is remove that heatshield that surrounds the cat flange and everything will fit right up.

We also supply new nuts/bolts for you to use for the downpipe to stock cat connection. For this you'll need to break the studs free of their tack weld.

Darryl, thank you for replying to this thread. I can assure you that my UR catback DOES NOT mate up correctly at all. The heatshield was removed from the stock cat and the flange on my UR is spaced out about a good 5mm further appart than the cat's holes. Perhaps revisions were made AFTER mine???

ON the o2/dp combo side, i can see how that would work, but it would require modifying my stock cat and removing the studs off it... again, not really a simple bolt-on affair... thoughts?

I'm not sure why it's not lining up. It just doesn't seem possible unless the flange on your cat is different than every other Evo X out there. The flange on our catback certainly hasn't changed. A different flange wouldn't even fit on our jig.

PM me directly and we'll see if we can get this figured out for you.
