There's nothing more that I hate about my car than the ridiculously high engagement point! Is it okay to remove the pill with the stock clutch? I've got 24k on it, after being tuned, and plan to put many more miles on it before having to deal with installing a new one.

Here's my question for this, being a newbie manual driver, is the pill helping me or hurting me? The changing engagement point at times frustrates me, but I worry about beating up the drivetrain if I take the pill out and am not smooth on clutch engagement.

Took an hour to remove my clutch pill yesterday. I'm happy I did so, the clutch is now more consistent with engagement, and releases at a lower point.

Simple subtitle mod that I'd reccomend.

Test drove an '08 Evo X today and the clutch engagement was ridiculously high, fairly stiff, and all over the place.

I noticed something similar with the '08 WRX that I test drove a few years ago but thought it had to do with Subaru's "hill park assist" or some snazzy feature they had in place to make it easier to drive uphill from a complete stop.

The Lancer Sportback I'd test driven also a few years ago had a manual transmission as smooth as my old Honda but generally speaking, felt like a complete noob today and this is coming from someone who's only ever owned manuals in the 15 years of driving.

Thanks for helping me make my decision.
