Did you install aftermarket pins after first failure ?

I came in here looking for info on upgrades as I just did a bunch of modifications but this thread is as bad as a Rota rim thread. No one seems to have any just cause. I NEVER launch my car.. either IX or my X. Not into drag. I do however drive road courses frequently. I wish I could get a straight answer on what is the actual cause.

Just to make you feel better (maybe...) I can tell you that as for today price of X in my country starts at 62 000$ for GSR.
And look, we still have the same problem with pins!
I bought mine from BR and replaced them in advance.
I do launch my car and I really keep my fingers crossed those upgraded pins would help (to install it I had to pay 600$).

If you launch your car you will also destroy the rear diff like I did ...so you need an upgraded rear diff.

I want to try on my evo a Cusco Rear LSD and Carbonetic front LSD, and if the cusco LSD won't resist then I will remove the rear AWC and make it mechanical like on Evo X RS.

Any word on the 2010s yet? I have a Clutch Masters Stg 3 w/ 301ft-lb on a LOW reading dyno. Probably in the 330's on a dynojet. Launched it a good couple dozen times, haven't had anything break yet. But now this thread is scaring me to launch my car, LOL!
Anyone knows if the 2010's diff pins or rear diffs has been changed from the previous Xs?

Such a deal, I'll make sure that Emery sources them in for my buildup.

I'd like to know this too, and also the 2011 for that matter.

In this thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...diff-pins.html it seems like perhaps they did fix it by building make some new pins (check post #6). Apparently they are different, hence the gold color. Don't take it from me though because that information is unverified. The info very well may be wrong; I'm just trying to aware people in thread. Anyone else want to chime in?

One would think that Mitsu would have realized that the pins sucked and fixed it to avoid the future costs from warranty repairs. Best cure for any problem is primary prevention...not like the diff is really that important right

Call Dan at the shop to discuss install, it's going to depend on if the trans is in the car, out of the car etc.
