was hearing akward noises coming from the engine

cylinder #2 had gone bad and there was metal in my oil pan

oh and my car is completely stock. absolutely no work has been done to it

 

Just heard of a timing chain failure yesterday. Car was being tracked. Timing chain snapped. Vendor cancelled an order with us since the owner now has to worry about repairing his vehicle.

How often are these timing chains failing, and is there a solution?

 

someone had offered todo some metal analysis on the chain and possible make a replacement.

^ i wonder how many miles that chain had seen?

 

Don't want to go into too many details. Let's just say the car was mildly-modified.
