CBRD- some testing and development
Hello X owners..
I posted sometime last week that we were testing a smaller stock housing turbo upgrade than our evo X BBX (which is rated around 57-58 lbs min)..
we finally got the chance to do some tuning on our car...
Keep in mind, our car has a decent amount of mods:
CBRD FMIC
CBRD IC PIPES
CBRD catback
CBRD Manifold
AMS Downpipe
AFE Intake with Perrin inlet pipe
3 port ebcs, and DW800s
Stock cams, stock motor etc...
Well... things went pretty well..
this little 48lbs min turbo works very nice.. something for the guys that want spool closer to stock...
the peak numbers were 393whp/356 wtq at 27.8 psi tapering to 25.8... This is on straight 93... It was about 82 degrees and the humidity was around 37% I believe....
I have overlayed it with when the car was stock (on the factory 18" wheels) and it was about 40 degrees outside and lower humidity

You can see we are doing pretty well over the car stock... even with heavy wheels and tires....
Here is a plot over the car before on the 18" wheels/tires on 93 with a 25.8 psi tune on stock turbo... this was with our vertical fmic, intake, test pipe, catback etc...

Granted there are a few variables in this... with the different mods, different wheels, weather etc..
Here is an overlay when we did official testing for garrett (same mods as above plus injectors and 3 port)
(current in dashed, garrett in solid)

regardless just some food for thought...
I will post overlays later this week with the BBX and this smaller turbo for direct comparison AND a plot of the car on 18" wheels...
should be pretty easy to make 420whp on stock cams etc with the bigger BBX..
cheers
