I had 272s in my 8 and they were great! I only got these because the S2's were on infinite backorder when I had my car apart, same with beehive springs I went with duals instead.

I like your idle. If I ever take the car apart again it will be hard not to put in a set of s2s.

Yea maybe something like 'tephra's build thread'

So I double-checked this morning, and I'm glad I did. Basically fuel pressure is ~44.5psi with the FPR connected and ~50psi with it unplugged. Either way, this translates to ~5psi higher than the DW300.

50 is what I saw others try to get their base pressure down to, so to be honest I'm unsure what to do at this point. On one hand I could yank the pump and drill the return to try and get it down closer to 45 base, or I could just leave it and hope that the extra 5psi does not hurt me up top. I'm guessing on my current setup I could just leave it, but what I'm beefing up the fuel system with the intention of running a larger snail, more power, more boost?

Anyone know what the diameter is of the return 100% stock? I am now leaning towards drilling it out a bit.

That matches up better with Beeble who I believe was getting overrun at idle on stock wiring. Did you see this post:

Good call. I do not have an AFPR so I will simply bore my siphon little by little to get the base pressure down to 45. I'm guessing it won't take much, probably a 2 or 2.4mm bit.

This is making me think I should try out the 400 in my RA without a AFPR.

I'm a little hesitant to be a cold weather guinea pig with this pump though since my RA sees 15F and below sometimes in the winter, 200 miles from home.

Just asked a stupid question I just read the answer to. I need to get a gauge on my car to make sure my fuel pressure is in check. BAP and aeromotive 340 with a stock FPR is my current setup.

SO. Yanked pump. Removed little filter thing, drilled siphon to 1.5mm. Reinstall, 42psi at idle and 46 with FPR off. Going in the right direction, I removed again and went to a 2mm bit. Reinstalled, back at 42psi at idle and 45-46 with the fpr removed. A little frustrated at the lack of change, I decided to leave it for now. I may eventually go down to 2.4mm but I want to make sure the siphon is still working properly.

Go for a rip, and yea...AFRs are notably better! I'm seeing 10.5 in a few spots!

Car rips, all 140lbs of spaz were with me tonight so I added that to the weight of the car

Allow me sir Please note my location. Although winter seems to have skipped us over this year and it is in the 40's lately, the *high* on Thursday is like 14°. I'll keep ya updated! PS I only have a FP Gauge kit, no aftermarket FPR.

Yea, that's why I got the ultimate racing fuel pressure gauge kit. Def valuable IMHO.

so i got around to installing my wally400.

I went straight for a 2.5mm drillbit on the venturi system.

Started the car - and it went straight to 38psi, pretty good.

I then turned DOWN the FPR to ensure the FPR was doing the job of fuel pressure and was able to go down to 34psi...

I drove home with 1/4 tank of gas and when I got home I hit the first refuel warning.. I kept driving around for a little more..

So far everything is ok...

Good to know. I'd put in my W400 if my SST clutches didn't seem to pretty much give up the ghost today.

I think it might be time for a S4... :-/

well I got the second fuel warning shortly after starting up this morning, did another 10 km and then filled up.

it took 48L to full...

so I would say that 2.5mm is fine
