E85 w/ stock clutch?

Anyone still running stock clutch stock turbo on E85? I want to get E85 tuned soon I'm at ~30,000 miles stock clutch has been holding up but I'm scared if I go E85 it will start slipping.

You could pretty much count on that. Even if it didnt right away you'll be on borrowed time. Like 2 hours borrowed time.

yep i also agree with diesel on that one
with E85 you have a really nice toque spike which wont make your clutch happy.....theres been ppl who have gotten away with out upgrading there clutch and you could be one of them but it wouldnt hold your breath to it

I would also seriously consider what happens insider your transmission as-well, specifically the diff pins..

I bought my Exo X with the E85 switch done already. I got it at 40k miles.
The ACT 6-puck lasted 20k, and the diff pins failed alongside of it. Long story short, the transmission didn't like the power gains being pushed through the 6-puck.

It also could have been a poor clutch installation, but ill never know. The aggressive clutch didn't help.

Just something to consider.

Just recently got tuned on E85.. making 370wtq on a dynodynamics and about 395 on virtualdyno/dynojet mode. No clutch slip yet.. certainly not 2 hours borrowed time lol

Yeah, once I upgrade to E85 I'll add 1100CC injectors and a 255lph fuel pump

Although I would probably upgrade the clutch to be safe judging by the reactions in here

Be ready to, but it isn't for sure you'll need to immediately. If it does slip, it will only be in extreme high torque situations at first. If it happens then, just don't floor it until you can get a new clutch. Or switch back to your pump gas tune until you can get a new clutch. Slipping it once under power will take some life off the clutch, but it isn't going to instantly ruin it.
