I really want to upgrade my exhaust for the performance benefit, but honestly, loud exhausts give me a headache...

My buddy drives an Integra with a full exhaust upgrade and after a week of carpooling, I told him we can just stick to my car. It's just not something I want to deal with at 5am every day, but am I really missing out on that much power?

Is there a way to get the benefit of a race exhaust while keeping the volume down?

 

The quietest VIII/IX exhaust were about 93db, also carb ceritfied--couple that with a stock cat and you should be good to go.. Yeah, I see you have a X--. On the perf side--maybe 20hp for the stock cat or a little under 10%. But it will be quiet except at WOT and even then is very quiet by comparison with anything else. Good Luck.

It's almost as quiet as stock. I think it's too quiet on my MR.

 

I had a buschur exhaust on my 8 and it was pretty quiet(besides wot). I've heard it's quiet on the x's too.

 

Do a search. There are several options (besides sound) as far as looks, performance, etc... All depends on what you're looking for.

 

I say magnaflow. I've been running it for 3years now and I sm much quieter than all my evo x friends.

 

one negative for magnaflow is they're too quiet and for some reason my left tip is sticking out further like 1/2 inch... going to readjust the hanger and flanges thou...

 

Magnaflow or Cobb, or had them both and really liked them both. Cobb's is "better" in my opinion, but it's also double the price. Magnaflow's system has a lot of adjustability so you can adjust how the tips sit in relation to the bumper.

 

I heard ETS quiet exhaust and 5Zigen are really quiet. I have a Tomei Ti on my X stock cats and DP and it's pretty toned down.

Same here. Mostly due to the cabin drone was gone
