Have fun with that blinding pride.

I literally never mentioned anything about an 18k in this thread.

I bring up eaten comp wheels, crap spool and cracked housings literally from experience.

Welcome to the forum, it's cozy here.

Evo 10 has been in offered in the same exact red since 2008.

Waiting 4 results...
I should mention that 450whp on E85 with 1000cc injectors is cutting it close (if it does it). You should leave more injector margin.

It was one of those "I got the turbo so cheap, why not?" sort of things. I'll take full responsibility if it cracks, there's an 18 month warranty (if they'll even honor it). Oh well.

I agree. But Chet didn't seem to think it was going to be too big of an issue. He's mentioned in the past that an MHI18k on E85 would be fine with ID1000's. I'd bet though that IDC is going to be 95% up top.

Some injector data:

MHI18k on E79, 1100cc injectors, 3rd gear.

97% IDC @ 7600 rpm, 24psi, 11.8 AFR

Car is making 480whp / 397wtq

http://datazap.me/u/razorlab/2015mr1...6-493&mark=279

-----------------

GTX3071R on E60, ID1000cc injectors, 3rd gear.

94% IDC @ 7600 rpm, 22.6psi, 11.7 AFR

Car is making 446whp / 402wtq

http://datazap.me/u/razorlab/jeffray...23&zoom=82-205

at 24psi out the top, injectors maxed out, even at "just" E60.

-----------------

Blouch Dom 2 on E78, ID1300cc injectors, 3rd gear.

85% IDC @ 7400 rpm, 27psi, 12 AFR

Car is making 492whp / 400wtq

Just a quick update, was held up on the install. RSD forgot to include the coolant banjo bolts, so had a small issue with a slight coolant leak. Got that resolved and it's all together and cruising on a basemap. Can't boost yet, but will post logs and vdynos as we go on pump gas and then to E85. Just a small detail, the turbo sounds extremely nice when cruising at part throttle with the anti-surge porting. Very different from the MHI 18K's I've heard.

Update, was out of town for about a week so we just now got around to WOT tuning the last couple days.

So far so good, very preliminary tuning on 25.8lbs. This is the 1st useable WOT map from Chet.
Hot and humid day here in IL, so I'm pleased thus far. Seeing full spool as early as 3800, I floored it late in this log as you can see. Seems comparable to many MHI 18k's so far. Still on 93 and slowly turning it up. We're going to run out of fuel though, already past 85% IDC at high rpm, so I'll need to order a fuel pump at the least before E85. Stay tuned.

That looks like full boost at 4400rpm.

Good eye, but notice WOT data isn't even recorded until 3600 in this log. I'll get out tomorrow and post another for you Mr. Skeptic

Fake news!

"this turbo spools great, it's tremendous"

Might also want to turn off correction in vdyno.

Am I missing something on corrections? It makes hardly any difference at all, goes to 402/342 if I unselect it. Again, see where I didn't even floor it until after 3600 based on this log.

So maybe it spools faster. But the 18k results I listed previously were more power at less boost...lol

430whp, 23psi of boost, full boost at 3600 MHI18k on pump gas
vs
440whp, 25psi of boost, full boost at 4600 Cavalli turbo on unknown fuel

Yeah. the Cavalli is a GREAT turbo by comparison.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...30whp-gsr.html
One made 388whp on 26.1lbs, the other 430whp on 25.6lbs uncorrected in 41* weather. Like I said, the characteristics of this turbo seem to be among the same vein as the MHI 18K's. I'm perfectly happy to be where I am on power so far, considering this is my first WOT map on 17* of timing @ rev limiter.

Except for the spool. Can you get a plot where it shows your claim of it spooling the same as the MHI?
