Evo X And Sti Doomed ?

It's starting to look like 1991-98 again when Nissan,Toyota, and Mazda over priced the Supra,300zxtt,and rx-7 "Moving it up up market". Mitsu and subaru should check the history books before pricing an economy car close to $40k with no significant changes in performance from the previous generation

I agree, both cars are over priced. I was pricing out a bmw 135i, yes it's on the bmw usa site now, you can build one. The one I priced out (only added sports package) was $1K cheaper than the STI with BBS package I priced out on the subaru usa site.

I remember many years ago when the Evo VII arrived. Everybody put it down as the wrong direction for mitsi to go after the Evo TME addition, but now we have the 8s and 9s which are awesome cars. So in reflection like the X, it will take time for people to warm to it but it is the new platform for the evos 11 and 12 which should be bloody awesome once they have mastered the new design!!!

True about the Supras and RX-7's....but have you looked at their prices? Talk about holding value...

The car is great but the problem is with the price.

Inflation, devalued USD, and the economy are only a few reasons to complain.

I'm sure Mitsubishi has a pricing department to look at all aspects of their MSRP. Not saying that they are smarter than you, but they have thought about where the pricing needs to be to remain competitive and profitable.

As much as people don’t like it Mitsubishi needs to make more money so they can keep on growing their business and coming out with fun turbocharged cars.

I agree that the car is expensive when you compare it to other autos that you can attain for 38K. But, come on now if you can’t afford it or it’s too slow for your taste buy a IX or 135i or 335i.

No they are not doomed. All cars are getting more and more expensive. It's tough to get a decent set a wheels in this day and age for less than 30-35 k.

The EVO and STI still offer a lot of bang for the buck. What other Turbo 300 hp AWD cars are out ther for less?

Edmunds just had a comparison test between the new STI and the Shelby Mustang GT. The Shelby GT is 39 grand. It's old American V8 technology and rear wheel drive.

The old Supra Tubo was $50,000, but that was 10 years ago.

We're upon 2008 and you kids need to walk on a car lot and check out prices. There isn't (1) car out there with as much HP and AWD that's any less than the EVO and STI.

And it's not true that all EVO's are 40 grand. A manual models starts at just under 35k that's still a very nice car.

I tried telling my boss that, and that for this reason alone, I needed more of them. It got a good laugh, and I believe I still have a job.

You stole my thoughts. 10 years ago, 50k was = to 80K today.
