Yes, i believe it is still an Evo.
This is the same argument/complaints that occurred elsewhere when the VII came out. And will most likely be the same when the XII or XIII comes out.
The X GSR still feels like an evo to me. Sure, its a completely new car, but if they didnt make a completely new car every once in a while, it would become obsolete. I will says that the new MR definitely is a big jump, but a reality of the future. In time, we will all come to accept that. And this is coming from a huge fan of the IX MR which is a favorite of mine

In terms of rawness, acceleration and feel the Evo 6 and esp the TME trumps the 7,8,9 but it was also a noisy, uncomfortable machine with an interior that only a mother could love. I haven't driven the X yet but imo even if it's a bit slower in a straight line and more refined doesn't mean it's not an Evo. The cornering prowess and responsiveness is still there and that, imo, is the defining characteristic of an Evo.
