Why has Mitsubishi not started offering a solution for this problem? I came from an 08 STI, and I have to say Subaru was much quicker to the table with solving factory problems.

A lot of the 08 STI's had some serious paint chipping problems in the same area, and Subaru has offered a free clear bra solution to the effected areas AND repainted peoples' cars who were severely effected.

There's this huge thread here, yet Mitsubishi has offered no assistance? My WEEK OLD Phantom Black X already has severe chipping on the doors. Surprisingly, I haven't seen anything on the front end.

I'll post some pics later.

wow, XxLaNcErGTSxX, I can't even believe that! Have you asked a dealer/Mitsubishi about that? I'm curious what their response would be to those pictures.

Here's my damage:

The streaky looking things are mud, the white dots are chips. This car is only a week old, and I bought it with 8 miles.

I'm trying to figure out a solution before the winter. I don't like the look of mudflaps on a street car, and I don't like how you can clearly tell if there is 3M tape on the doors. I've only gotten a few chips in 2,500 miles but I need to do something within the next month or two before the winter destroys my paint. I'm thinking I'll have to bite the bullet and get some Rally Armor flaps.

What the hell does that even mean? If this car had like 460whp, then I'd consider your statement somewhat logical.

If they want to charge me $1-2k extra so my car doesn't look like a 13 year old's face after 900 miles, I'll gladly pay it.

I think some people in this thread have mentioned that mud flaps didn't solve the problem. Can some people with RA's chime in on whether they've significantly decreased the chipping?

I've also been searching for a clear film solution, but can't seem to find anything large enough for that area that would be worthwhile.

I do have to drive this car through the entire winter, so, I need a solution. Mud flaps make the car look silly, and they don't eliminate the problem.

Why don't someone address this issue to mitsu? Seem like all of us have the same problem and nobody is taking any action. If we get enough people to voice our opinion I think they will do something about it. I think this is total BS if they don't. If someone can get me the corporate contact number. I'll make the 1st call.

I haven't seen any chips taken out of my paint yet. But looking at those pictures was enough to make me go to the dealership and order the X mud flaps. Should be in soon.
