Evo X official paint issues/problems thread {merge}
Now I'm worried since I have been reading about all these terrible paint chip incidents.
So far at 600 miles and not a single paint chip. I really hope I do not get any.
Also I hope Mr.Colorchip makes a kit for the Wicked White Evo X.

Did anyone try to have their wheels fixed under warranty?<----lol
^ Yes, it is a widespread issue. At least around here (NE Ohio). I know of a dude locally that got his warrantied. All four of them. Mine are doing it as well, but I have new wheels on the way for summer and will be using stock for winter, so I don't care. Plus I get free powdercoating and will most likely do that soon anyways.
Here is a thought not previously mentioned. Don't clear bra, 3M, scotch tape, or vinyl wrap your car. All these options do cost alot of money. Instead wait and find a painter that will repaint your car with Imron. Short of a small boulder, you will never get a rock chip again.
All the new cars minus proably the extremely high end cars are having cheap paint jobs. its just something we have to live with I guess unless u get a re-paint. In my opinion the bras may save the paint but don't look good at all. at least not the clear bras i have seen.
I recently sold a 2007 Honda Si that had 17,000 miles on it. Honda paint is notorious for chipping. Yet, I only had one very tiny chip that was hardly noticeble. I believe that having clearbra on the front of the car and an aggressive sealant/wax application helped to mitigate chipping. Paint sealing is imperative on water based paint because of the millions of nanopores. Those pores need to be filled. A good wax over the sealant gives further surface protection.
While hardly conclusive, both my son and I have brand new 2011 Evo X GSR's that do not have any chips at all. My son's Evo has 3k miles. He has clearbra on the hood, front end, mirrors and behind the rear wheelwell area. He has driven through all types of weather this summer. [This winter will be the acid test so to speak as Minnesota generously coats its roads with salt and sand]]. My Evo only has 300 miles on it, but paint is perfect.
Get some clearbra if you do not already have it on your hood. Make sure to use a good sealant like Wolfgang, Natty's EXP, Menzerna Power lock or Jet Seal. After letting the sealant dry and cure, later, apply a good quality carnauba wax. This should be done as needed. You can tell when the paint needs it by not only its appearance, but by lightly touching the paint and checking for a lack of smoothness. Water beading also can help tell if the wax is still working. I really feel that sealing and waxing are critical in reducing chipping.
My Brembo paint looks terrible after two track days. My VIII never had a problem even though people had issues with fading. So now my dark red Brembos and yellow/burnt lettering annoys me. The dealer said it was normal.
I think I might paint them green.

I would try touching it up. Since its your bumper you don't have to worry about rust. I doubt the dealership will do anything. Maybe if they are nice they will have someone touch it up.
ugh paint seems to be chipping at the crease , what should i do about this is it worth going to the dealership and complain what can they really do?

Open your mouth at the dealer. If they don't make good for it.
Tell them you are going to take them to small clams court. You will see how fast they take care of you. That paint problem was not normal ware.
