I had that experience on the drive home when I first bought the car. It can take 10-20 miles on the freeway in between gas stations. I was a little panicked since I wasn't sure how far it'd go after the warning light lit up.

I've been getting a pretty consistent 18 mpg with how I drive (conservative in speed but like to gun it on on ramps . I'm assuming that'll improve after a tune.

it probably isn't the best idea to run your car beyond the point where it displays a gas level on the gauge, especially given the design of the fuel tank.

I got 28.1 mpg on the way to work yesterday. My commute is 20 miles each way. I typically get 22mpg and on a good day I can get 24mpg. But after I used a fuel injector cleaner, the gas mileage increased a lot!

I drive fairly hard, quick take offs, hard stops. City/highway combined: 16-17. I am sure if I did 65 no stops/sudden take offs, I can stretch that milage by FAR.

who cares about the mpg on EVO..... as long you are happy driving (i mean driving, not baby-ing or cruising the car). If you wan mpg's get a Prius instead. Evo X mpgs were not far from the actual published specs. peace!
