have you driven an evo 8, 9, or 10? so that way people can weigh your opinion based on your direct expereience (be it reading other people's opinions or actually driving the machinery in question).
if i had an ix and for whatever reason compells me to trade it for the x i would regret it. i mean the ix is faster in 1/4, 0-60 and the usdm ix mr is a half sec faster than the x mr on willow springs. i think for ix jdm and euro owners w/ayc, there is even a lesser reason to trade in for the x unless you want a less raw daily driver.

Here are its numbers:
EVO X
0-30 mph: 1.7 seconds
0-45 mph: 3.1 seconds
0-60 mph: 4.9 seconds
0-75 mph: 7.2 seconds
Quarter-mile: 13.6 seconds at 101.3 mph
30-0 mph: 28 feet
60-0 mph: 112 feet
600-foot slalom: 70.7 mph
200-foot skid pad: 0.99g
EVO IX
0-30 mph: 1.8 seconds
0-45 mph: 3.3 seconds
0-60 mph: 4.9 seconds
0-75 mph: 7.4 seconds
Quarter-mile: 13.3 seconds at 103 mph
30-0 mph: 28.6 feet
60-0 mph: 115.8 feet
600-foot slalom: 70.7 mph
200-foot skid pad: 0.93g
Secondly, how can you say what you would do or feel if you have never driven either car? Silly.

so far, a grand total of 1 former 8/9 turned 10 owner has come out and plainly said that the 10 is more fun. it's always important to note what people don't say, meaning that i am surprised people aren't just picking one or the other.

I went to the dealership and dude came out and was like you should trade in your ix for a X.. I was like okay, but as long as I can drive it before any paperwork is in place.. he was reluctant and if i didn't pull up in a IX I could of kissed that idea out the window.
Anyways, my thoughts are the interior is cool, but the power and feel is ****ty to me and seemed heavy. But I can't compare stock to stock anymore..
of course all my opinion.. I spent only 10mins in the X

There are a few of us that had older Evos before our X. I'd say that many are new owners, though, and have no basis of comparison to the CT9A cars.
Another reason people like PDX, etc, aren't posting is here is because they have already.

I was trading a WRX and they were reluctant to letting me test drive the car also. I told the guy to run a credit check now to make sure I was not just out for a joy ride but there was NO way I was going to spend 30K+ on anything I did not test drive ever and that I was sure there was a dealership somewhere that understood that. He was worried about people doing launches and burning out he clutch, I asked if there was something wrong with the clutch that they would not want someone to test drive the car after which he agreed to the test drive.
They are actually good guys and more than treated me right on the trade but are afraid that if there are more than the 8 miles that on the cars they can't sell them (BS).
This is a funny story. The owner of the Mitsubishi dealership is a great guy but they have had problems with people just wanting to do a few donuts on a test drive and not buy.

I am in Nashville for about another month as I have to move to Cleveland, OH for a job. I actually bought mine in Louisville at Sam Swope (I just finished up school up there). They currently have 3 EVO GSRs left (2 red, 1 silver) and do not mark up the cars (please PM me if you are interested in going there and I will split the bird dog fee with you). It is hard to get a test drive though.
As to Hallmark, I think that is the old Hayes Mitsubishi...If under new managment then they may be fine, if the same old management, I have heard bad things. The best Mitsu dealer in Nashville used to be Rally Mitsu but they have closed.

According to Edmunds, the IX is equal or slower than the X until you get above 75mph and is only 0.3 sec faster in the 1/4:
