Evo 9 to Evo X. Any regrets?
well, i started collecting the OEM parts for my evo 9 to return the car to stock to get it ready for sale. i'm not gonna lie - i had quite the sinking feeling.
i know that there are a handful of folks out there that have made the change. so far, it seems that no one really regrets it at all.
if anyone is curious, my current car is a gg evo 9 mr with appearance pack, robispec clubsports, vishnu diffuser, 330whp on a mustang dyno. the car is plenty capable. but i have to choose one, and the stupid AYC is singing its siren song.
is there nothing that compels former 8/9 guys to go back?

Coming from a 330 whp car to a 220 whp, you will sure miss the power like I did.
But I'm about to change that with ecutek. Just got my package and about to start tuning. Bolt ons and 300 plus is around the corner.
The other part to miss is the free ecuflash software. Ecutek is not cheap(free) but should be well worth it.

I think it is a big trade up in technology and a slight trade down in quality of materials and workmanship. I recently got a X after trading in my daily driver
06 GTO. I kept my race gas drinking 8. I noticed the X has black tape on the outside window frames instead of paint. Both interiors have fur, but the driving
position is better for me in my 8. I don't understand anybody that thinks the seats are better on the X. With the X 's short gearing, I like the 8's transmission better.
I love my FAST key and bigger brakes on the X. Of course we all know how the X handles the curves. I am still undecided on which is uglier. My 2 cents.

Ya no Rear wipers WTF!, but aside from that just little things between my VIII and the X, to me it seems i sit lower on the X. But thats where my nags stop, i think the X has better looks, a smoother feel when driving, and we all know about how the X handles. To me the X is a much better daily driver, the VIII's kind of a race car lol, I am going to miss my 35R though. Till the weekend!
I wouldn't go back for a minute. I think the fit and finish is better on this car. The electronics are way better, and SAYC alone is the win^infinity. The seats are much better in the X, no back fatigue on a 2000 mile cross country trip, and super grippy. The chassis is just plain better. There are little things I miss, but the only thing I miss badly from my IX is its lighter curb weight.
