I would never by a x i went to go see one, the back is so hideous the thing looks like a suv from the back and sort of like a mazda6, what was mitsu thinking. Plus the platform is not proven yet and will not be for quite some time. The ix 4g63 is def the best platform and look of all time. The 4g63 platform has evolved from like 14 years of engineering to make it better to the evo 9's current state. The evo 9 is the last of the best.

 

Are your parents as retarded as you are? Do some reading and you'll find that the platform is proving itself performance-wise in every category. Sure, the appearance bit is completely your opinion, but for me the X looks much better than the previous models with the rear being especially sexy.

Don't forget, this is the same company that had that 14 years of experience and they applied their knowledge onto the X. Have you seen the kind of numbers people are putting down with minor bolt-ons and a good tune? Not to mention the improvement in handling over the IX...

 

The best is only the best until something better comes along....everything changes and car stylings do also. Can't live in the past forever. I liked the new car from the first time I saw it and I had never considered ever buying a EVO until the IX came out.

Nobody now's or has seen how the car will respond will a large turbo kit? The x is hideous, it looks like a suv espicially from the back and is very heavy for a 2 liter car. And is bad for straight line performance and the gearing is terrible in the x making it accellerate slower than previous models. Wow its got handling thats expected from newer cars these day but what happened to it's straight line performance? The x is lacking. The fact is most people will say its very ugly from the back. But a evo 9 is good looking all the way around. Do me a favor and lay down the crack pipe.

I never said the evo x dosent handle better. Its the overall look of the x, the rear is a complete turn off, the rear looks similar to a mazda 6 espicially with the rear lights they gave the x. Make a poll and see what poeple have to say. Evo x owners are in denile about the whole look of the x they know the rear is ugly.

 

You know what is really funny is that I am sure the European and Japanese and all others who have head all of the variations on the Evo have argued the same thing. I can just hear it now when the VII came out...

"Oh my lord, that thing is HIDEOUS! What were they thinking?!? It is heavier, its is ugly OMG the sky is FALLING!! There will never be another Evo like my billy bad a$$ VI... Gosh, who would buy that thing?"

Back to topic, I think that Noize is right, if you want to go fast in a straight line the IX may prove to be the better choice as it starts out lighter and from what I gather can be made to be much lighter then the X. I have seen some VIII's and IX's on here that were down to 2600-2700lbs stripped of course. There is just more "stuff" on the X. I like going fast in a straight line, but I LOVE embarassing Porsches in the curves. My VIII was capable of keeping up with them in the curves, I can just imagine what the X will do....
