FWIW, best motoring did "tests" with all settings and i think ASC Off (no engine cut but with braking control) was slightly faster than all systems shut off. makes sense though. i'd want stability control through braking only because i like to modulate the throttle myself. brakes... i concede computers will be better than any man 99.9% of the time consistently.
That's great but on a track day where you are doing a lot of laps, you will totally destroy your rear brake pads without the ASC fully off.

Is this from personal experience or speculation? From other roadracers running front and rear track pads, usually the rear pads last twice as many track days. Usually the rear brakes are only doing about 30-40% of the braking so putting them to work a little more for corner entry shouldn't destroy the rear brake pads. I have a 2 day track event at Watkins Glen in 2 weeks so I'll report back first hand.

Initially I'll leave ASC on then likely turn off with one button push to remove the power cut and just have brake assist on. If the tires get greasy I'll switch the ACD from Tarmac to Gravel mode. As far as I knew Tarmac resulted in the most oversteer while Gravel and Snow modes would make loose surfaces less out of control.

The difference between each ACD setting is how long the center diff takes to lock up. The Evo X AWD system is always 50/50 and cannot be changed.

At the track the Evo X tends to be able to rotate better in Tarmac mode than in Gravel mode.

What MadFast said is right though, BM Japan tested various settings and the fastest setting around a small tight track was ASC off, AYC Brake control on.

Exclamation Turning of the ASC & S-AWC

Ok I used to own a 05 Sti and I would dump the clutch and that car will give me whip lash-lol 30,000 when i got rid of it I did not need to replace the clutch. When I got the Evo X I tried the same it didn't work since the Evo has electronic measures that protect the drivetrain, which limit engine speed during standing-start launches.I was told to feather the clutch on a launch but I have 10,000 miles on it and dont want to burn the clutch just yet, So I turned off the ACS and held the button down for 3 seconds more and I think I turned off the S-AWC becuase when I launched it. I actually chirped the tires. Anyway I hope you guys find this useful I had more fun driving the car with this feature off.

This is exactly what I was looking for locox, thanks. After turning off the S-AWC at what RPM did you launch? And did you ride the clutch a little or let it go immediately?

You can't turn off S-AWC. If you did your car won't move anymore. S-AWC is a system that's composed of the ACD + S-AYC + Sports ABS + ASC (You can only turn this part of the system off).

Ok I was confused about this too initially.

Press and you turn off the engine cut on the stability control

Hold and you turn off the brake use by the stabilty control

You cannot turn off the yaw control.

If you read the posts above yours, it was an ECU/programming issue, not a TPMS issue.

you can't turn off the AYC.
You can disable the steering input, break and throttle control /S-AWC, ASC/ , but not the torque distribution on the rear wheels./AYC/

asc light???

Hi im not an owner of evo x but i have a short question.
My friend has an evo x gsr and he letted me drive his car for a bit.
and I ran it with the ASC off to really take it hard.
After for a while when I reved it up high at idle to launch, suddenly somethin like a check light with a traction control looking lightcame on. and the ASC OFF light wouldnt turned off. but i turned it off and turned it on, it went away.

the manual says its okay but is it can be a major problem? I kinda feel sorry for my friend and here it goes.

oh and another question. do you guys use any of cobb products? because I have a mazdaspeed3 and A LOT of owners of ms3 are really into cobb products. I know their accessport is really popular to any other cars but i dont really know about other products for evos. He just installed cobb catted test pipe and I think they make really nice products.

thanks in advance guys!!

its limp mode , the car will clear itself, let it stay turned off for a few hours.
