j/k it's a hell of a deal tho u gotta admit. the design on that car is sexy. who knows what the camaro is gonna be capable of when gm did what they did with the cobalt. plus gto are ugly as all hell.

the new camaro posted a very respectable nurburgring time which was faster than the cobalt , so to say it cant turn and is a total sled probably wouldnt be totally accurate. gm is producing world class cars right now(thinking vette, cts-v, and soon to be camaro and g8 gxp) and the quality difference has largely been eliminated.

however, let me stress to evom members, what i posted a month ago before the latest stock market crash. dont buy new cars right away, right now. let someone else fall on their sword. there will be tons of high end cars on the aftermarket at steep discounts within the next 12 months. autoblog only yesterday posted repos are up something like 15%. the housing market and real economy continues to get worse, more layoffs are on the way, and cars are something people will throw overboard rather quickly (especially the "extra" weekend sports car).

350Z is a very capable car that can do many things, kinda like mk4 supra. With some internal upgrades and twin turbo kit, it can make some monster power.
However, the car is usually regarded as a grand tourer with missing back seats due to the way it drives. The car doesn't do too well on fun factor scale, thanks to its shared platform and engine with trucks and family sedans. It is also amongst the most expensive to insure (along with the Evo), as a lot of teenagers receive it as a graduation gift, then wrap a tree with it within a week. A lot of the aftermarket parts are expensive especially if you are looking for quality, I would say almost E46 M3 level.

Both Evo X and 370Z are (and will be) fast cars in stock form with great potential for further performance upgrade, it really depends on what the purpose of your car and how much you are willing to spend further down the road.

Not to mention the 370Z racing chassis that comes stock, there saying the 370Z will have the fastest nürburgring times in history.
Fail.

Your in Cali! Go for the 370Z. I used to have a 350Z here in Colorado. NA is completely gutless at this altitude, +snow sucks in rwd! I loved it and miss it. I would strongly suggest the 370Z over the Evo X. Now if you where thinking about IX SE thats a whole other story =).

I'll give credit to Nissan for the GTR...but the freakin Z? No-can-do. I always impression a blue-blockers sun glasses, member's only jacket, isotoner gloves wearing, middle-aged white dude(I'm a middle-aged white dude, so I can make that comment) driving it, trolling for bar skanks. That, and my mom's (then) husband driving away in her Z, and the thing looking like it was dragging the exhaust when he accelerated out of the driveway. Those things always squatted like a ***** under acceleration..
give me chills just thinking about it

You sure the transmission(s) you're referencing are built by Nissan, and not someone else, as in the case with the Evo, Corvette, BMW, etc..?

Living in San Diego, I almost forgot about this argument...a high altitude, bad weather car- evos or subarus FTW in those conditions.

You might go check and see how your precious IX handled vs. BlackTrack on the track this year in the NASA TT.

Might change your mind a bit

Man i wish it was middle age white men. Every Z I see here in the chicago land area is driven buy and old white guy with white hair. I've come to think of the Z as the car old white guys who can't afford the vette get.

Now that being said, I also always see old white guys driving vettes but a vette is still my dream car.
