Other things to consider:

1. The Z is a lot more common on the streets than an Evo X. And the body structure of the 370Z is not going to be very different from the 350.

2. A lot of Zs I've seen are driven by female yuppies. One reason I've tried to break away from that mold.

^^^ And what's your opinion on the change? Love the Evo? Hate it? More power? Less power? Turns More or Less Heads?

Anyways, regarding the whole subject; I've been reaaaaally holding from buying an Evo X. I mean there's a lot in play; once you start looking for alternatives it aint that easy. First the economy is f'edd up. Second, it's an investment (not like buying a 50" Plasma TV) it's big bucks we're talking about. It only happens a couple times in life. I want to make sure these 40 grand are well spent.

So far there are so many cars out there that I don't know what to do. First there is the new Ralliart which supposedly comes behind the MR by a mere 6 tents of a second (the MR does bout 5.0 and the Ralliart 5.6... Wtf is that).

Then the M3 which is not that far away from the Evo X MR when it comes to it's price tag.

Then the STI which I simply scratched off my list for being butt ugly.

Then all of a sudden, a PoS Cobalt and a re-tuned WRX are all over Evo's territory (when it comes to Magazine's numbers). Of course, one is light-years away when it comes to looks, performance, warranty and overall everything (yes, that's the Cobalt) then the WRX is still a WRX... but damn it's so close behind both the X MR and the STI it scares me. And for how much? less than 27K, that kills the Ralliart right away.

350Z I've always hated. One reason why I want to get an Evo is to spank them on the street, but again, they're not that for from an Evo either; hell they're pretty much the same. And again you save money if you get a 350Z.

Then there's the 370Z which I believe is, or will be an Evo X spanker. I thought we'd see a 60K price tag, but for the looks of it.... I will actually be an Evo Spanker. I'm actually afraid of buying the Evo right now, and then see them 370Z's howling by me. LOL.

And what about an S4? an Evo can still teach it a lesson or two, but the Audi's interior is top-notch!

Oh decisions, decisions...

I love Mitsu, but every time they come out with something Bad-a$$; the're somewhat behind in roughly 2-3 months... I don't want to MOD my car to be able to keep up with newer cars coming out (literally, not that new... an 08 is still an 08, on January 09).

It's like the Ralliart subject: The best thing where it stands... Mitsu's been announcing the car for a whole freaking year, and still no signs of it. One week before it's coming to US, there goes the WRX walking all over it and then the ugliest, most horrifying thing ever conceived by a Car Manufacturer- the Cobalt SS, owing anything in it's price range, and then some: (Things like an Evo, an M3, an IS F, an STI, a 911, a Vette!!!!... I mean, WTF?)

Then I wish we had FQ's down here... only NOT with a $70,000+ price tag. Heck no.

Mitsu, do something for us the Evo-soon to be owners. Do something for next year, pump it up, seriously. Regardless of it all, the Evo pretty much stands out for being AWD, orgasm-like, sexual looks and having crazy-superb Auto-manual Tranny.

It comes down to many things as you see. But overall, whatever makes you feel happy. I still think among all car's I'd be willing to sign for, the Evo X makes it to my Drive way.

If I were you, I'd wait 6 more months; Yes I would. Drive your Acura for now; it's a decent looking, well balanced car. And trading it out when you just started paying it, is a dumb move (no offense intended).

The 2010 STi is going to see more power since the 2009 WRX has been upgraded to almost STi level. Will the Evo?

Yeap, and it's pissing me off that Mitsu hasn't said a word about it... I already heard of big improvements on the '10 STI. Like, 330 horses was it?

cant find the link... but regardless, Mitsubishi... better... come up with something... They simply cannot stop the X at that and wait 2-3 more years to come up with something else. Same for the Ralliart. Pump-it-up or get ready to pack and go back to Japan. Upgrade is needed, mostly in performance, secondly interior plastic junk!

Let's send some letters to MMNA bashing the heck out of 'em

The 370Z is a nice car, with a nice suspension. It is faster than the EVO X in most situations, but driving it fast is a chore. The steering doesn't communicate well, the clutch and transmission aren't very fun, to get the car into neutral handling you need to really lay into the throttle in the corner, which seems to upset the chassis a bit. If you can do without the rear seats...look at some real sports cars. Get a Porsche Boxster (2005+) or Cayman. Power not enough? Throw in a 3.8 997s engine and enjoy your 375 horsepower 2800 lb car with some of the best headlights, best steering, best handling, and most communicative chassis out there. Oh yeah and 30 mpg on the highway to boot.

i think the ralliart would be fine if it had a 5 spd as a option and the cost the car is way too high. especially with the wrx being very capable costing only 24,000. if i didnt have a x and was looking for a new car i would definitely consider the wrx

The 370z isn't even near the same performance as the Evo. It has more grunt down low, but there's very little you can do cheaply to extract more power. Plus the Z is heavy as hell.

And inneedof, take your **** elsewhere. Just cuz you can't afford a better car doesn't mean everyone else has to lower their standards
im sure this is the ignorant statement everyone here would agree with me on. and im sick of people insulting others by saying they cant afford _____ car. an evo is not a lambo. its actually kind of pathetic to treat an evo like a lambo. it almost makes YOU seem poor to claim someone cant afford a 30k car. an new honda accord costs 30k.

dang the Z is nice inside. i would get the Z if i live in an area that doesn't get bad weather. AWD comes in pretty handy for the snow and tons of rain i get in my area.

I think the 370Z looks good and the performance is there... we'll have to see how it is when it is actually out and in the hands of normal people.

I will say the 370Z would be better to drive every day. It is more a touring sports car than the hardcore sports car the Evo is. And yes, you will definitely see a lot more 370Z on the street than an Evo 10.
