This was my compliant from day one, and I know it's waering my syncro's. Eevn with MTG in my tranny 3rd gear has a lock of crunchiness/notchiness almost grind.

I am seriously thing of letting TRE look at it and also go with a Exedy Twin to resolve the clutch draging issue.

Btw..I have 17k + miles.

I love my X, but I'm starting to think that = . I have a case open with Mitsu corp and they want me to take the car to the dealer to see if they can find out the problem with the throttle blips and rough idle. I've had the car to the dealer a couple times and I had to seriously get onto them to find the ECU reflash bulletin. The reflash made the blips worse while improving the idle slightly on my car.

Anyways, what's your milage and any problems?

I've got 4K miles on a GSR. Solid and smooth except for 2 minor problems...

* Dash Rattle
* Starter Issue - on rare occasions, the starter will crank longer than usual. About 5-15 seconds. It's never failed to start though.

And on a positive note - I've even got pretty good gas mileage. My tanks average 21-23mpg. Which is better than the G35 Coupe it replaced!

25k typical things everyone else speaks of. The only thing that I'm starting to wonder about is the driveline i.e. diffs, drive shafts and cv's are all starting clank and clunk a little too much for my taste. Also just noticed the front cv's are starting too leak grease from the boots

Oh and the factory struts are shot to heck!!!!!! They started lossing it around 18-20k

About 8,000 miles and the only issue is a slight hesitation at 2500 RPM's. Not a big deal really just kind of annoying and the dealer knows about it and documented it but I haven't had time to let them test it. All around it's a great car and I'm very happy with its performance.

I have a whopping 900 miles on mine (bought it a couple of weeks ago). Thus far I've had to have it aligned twice - it came off the lot out of alignment just like the last two Mitsubishis I've owned - and the battery had to be replaced under warranty two days after I bought it since the car had sat for so long. Other than that, no problems. I have to say that the X is quite a bit more solid-feeling than my VIII in terms of the transmission and how it's put together. I have none of the rattles or squeaks that plagued my last Evo. Of course I only have 900 miles. There's still plenty of time left for things to go wrong

Oh, and even though everything is smooth and I'm not experiencing any of the idle or stalling problems that other X owners have had I'm still intent on getting a custom tune as soon as I can.

i never really had too significant of idling issue but it is dead on now. it runs right to the redline smoothly and pulls very nicely in top gear at highway speeds.

Not to go to off topic but my Mitsubishi Dakota, I mean Raider does this on occasion. Hasn't seemed to hurt the starter any. Seems really weird when it happens though.

quick summary, for folks who just bought their evo and dont know about couple "pretty simple issues" and for those who will buy an evox.

-idle problems
//just get reflash at dealership "newer ones might have this done, no idea"

-your keyless ignition wont start? meaning wont turn engine wont go on
// i actually figured this out after like 7 months of owning the car hahaha i never
read the manual -_- , your steering wheel is locked, so just turn it to the left while your starting the ignition

-rattle noise shifter area
// i read somewhere that it has to do something with the zip tie i believe not completely sure,
but i get this from time to time

-WINDOW PROBLEM? usually driver side, you hear a loud click when your half way down, or when you stop at that half way point it rattles pretty bad?
// solution is, checked it up at dealership, they say some of the evo x's had a bad assembly,
so the regulator for your window is not 100% will it damage you in the future? dont know but its under warranty so get it fixed before its too late, they ordered mine just waiting for a day to go get it installed.

couple things that are still a mystery to me.

-mystery rattle in dash =[ i hit it and it goes away then comes back
-start car wait couple seconds and car shuts off

some of my mystery problems are probably answered but will look for it
