Use permatex disc brake quiet on the back of pads and calper lube on slides. Noises will go away.

The only problem I have so far is the driver's seat material coming out of harness slot.

I have 5600 miles on my MR. No problems and it even started at -19 F yesterday. Compared to my last car, a Jeep that had the transmission overhauled at 5k and never stopped popping out of 5th, the Evo X is awesome reliable.

5700 miles

-code p1320 @ 1k, cleared by dealer and never came back

-shift knob broke off inner core, becomes loose when cold

-staple showing on driver's seat

-terrible idle and slow after 5500 rpms, which is fix

-dash rattle, I dont really notice it, I think its the cold weather

-notchy shifting, seems better after 5k but still crunchy when cold?, again maybe because of the -20 degree weather

2300 miles. About once a month I get a P1320 code probably from using the Cobb 91 Octane map + the gas I use. Other then that it's been pretty solid.

20,000 miles here and I really haven't had an issue. I have this annoyance that happens now and then when I accelerate hard. The check engine light will chime and come up for a second then goes away. Other than that, I'm very happy with the quality (although she does rattle a little bit).

I had ECU issues at first (start failures, rich hesitation), but at 3k miles EcuTeK flashed, all ECU issues gone and power increased substantially.

I traded at 7k and 6 months of ownership. At that point, the transmission was just as terrible going into 2nd and 3rd as it was at day 1. The rear side panels were rock chipped beyond belief for a car of that age in normal driving.

It had markedly overall lower transmission quality and paint finish compared to the VIII and IX I owned in the past.

I am confident Mitsubishi will correct these issues on later model years and improve the car. I would like to own an Evo again someday.

WOW, sorry to hear that. My gear box is notchy going from first to second, but only when it's cold. Once the car warms up, it's very smooth. As for the paint, I feel its quite good. Now, I'm coming from an STi which has paint that's on par with nail polish so anything is a step up.

A bit over 2K miles and zero problems after the dealer ECU reflash. I got some Venturesheild clear bra the first week I owned the car, so no paint chipping issues. My transmission is also smooth as butter once the car warms up. My IX never gave me any issues either. These cars are surprisingly reliable for the performance they offer, as long as you keep up with the maintenance.
