2600 miles, got it June 28, 08 the minor probs (the staples in the seats, the fuel pump can get really loud with the whistling, my personal favorite-the freaking steering wheel is splittering.)

I know these things sound small but you'd think a japanese car would have better quality control.

Mine is at 3,7xx and the trans is finally starting to work properly going into 2nd gear. Up til recently, when the car wasn't warmed up it would not go into 2nd. At 1000 miles the Factory rep told dealer to have me continue to drive it and it should loosen up.
The other odd thing is that the OEM tires flatspotted whenever parked. Drive it a mile and they were fine each time. I put Goodyear F1's on and much better traction and no flatspotting.

I'm getting close to 700 miles. I've now gone past the stated break in period and the car runs much better. I think it need some time for the LTFT to settle. The shifts, once the car has warmed are like butter. It doesn't like to shift when cold but thats because it is still hovering around 35 degrees out here. My mileage jumped up from 11mpg to 18mpg.

Problems with Acceleration on my Lancer Evo X MR

I have about 3800 miles on my Lancer Evo X MR. Just yesterday I started having an acceleration problem where when I press the gas pedal more than 30% the car goes even slower and the car sounds like its going fast but it takes a long time for the revs to get up to 6-7k and when it gets to 6-7k the car stutters and doesn't shift until I left off the gas. This problem happens when I'm in almost any gear (1,2,3,4 not really 5th & 6th)

Anyone have this problem happen to them? All I done to the car is an AEM intake.

I took it to dealer today and they are giving me crap about having an intake but I have yet to hear back from them.

Any thoughts?

That was the one thing the dealer told me I could put on the car, CAI. I too also have the AEM. That wouldn't make your shifts happen like that. Sounds almost like your clutches are slipping in the MR. Or could be the ECU needs the reflash or a tune to fix your acc problem.

2110 on mine and only problem, was staple in driver seat, got that fixed and the hood latch cable was the wrong one, new one installed, and idle problem, so Cobb tuner to fix that.

I know it's not normal for a car to need a clutch this soon, but In my case and many many other Evo X owners cases it is normal. I did not launch or really even drive hard and it was already starting to go. Mitsu really underestimated the clutch this car really needed.....

Talking

8000mi bought april 2008
ocasinally loud brake noise no big deal remember this is a raw car.

when cold hard to engage gear but my 2006 civic si did this and was a real nice feeling shifter.

had car reflashed due to some nasty smoke to the point my buddy joked it was a evo diesel.

No rattles or strange sound.

Had a few times the car would not start but the last few moths I have not had that re occur.

cant get the car on the awc grip meter to pass two bars in public roads

In short for how raw it is I think it is more than livable you always will want something for the car to do better but all in all did it right and I sont regret my purchase

Sad? Read some other forums for the STI or Speed 3. Tons of problems. And people with problems complain the loudest. Most Evo's are doing fine, but they are a fairly hardcore machine and require tweaking. If you want no problems buy a Lexus and don't drive it hard.

The teething problems for a car like the X are amazingly small so far.
