How many miles do you have on your X? Problems?

I've got a little over 12,000 miles and I was curious how many miles some of you all have put on your X. I'm having the typical issues that a lot of X's seem to have but nothing too serious yet at 12k. I've got the throttle "blips", rough idle, dash rattle, fuel smell in the oil, and I just found out that if you are on a flat surface with the clutch pressed in and put it in first gear, the car lunges forward a couple inches.

I love my X, but I'm starting to think that = . I have a case open with Mitsu corp and they want me to take the car to the dealer to see if they can find out the problem with the throttle blips and rough idle. I've had the car to the dealer a couple times and I had to seriously get onto them to find the ECU reflash bulletin. The reflash made the blips worse while improving the idle slightly on my car.

Anyways, what's your milage and any problems?

-X

I've put on 8,214 miles (7,200 on track) since Feb 14th. I've had 0 problems. I am amazed at how well this car has held up, seriously. It's taken so much abuse over the past year...all while making great power and being constantly beaten on.

I must say....most of the issues being posted on EvoM are pretty nit-picky. Just my opinion.

car was flashed with EcuFlash at 10k miles, all the engine problems went away. I'm now at 12k miles and still runs flawless.

Just about 13k and since my tune all engine flaws have disappeared and runs like a champ!
The only thing I can complain about is the paint "toughness" but then again that is also kind of nit-picky IMO

27,000 miles.

Here's the thread I created when I hit 20k miles:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...hink-my-x.html

All the issues that everyone else has mentioned have all bothered me, but the more I've really thought of it, the more I realize that you really have to ignore all those small problems (even rough idle, etc) because this car isn't luxury, and nowhere near being luxury.

The Evo's a hardcore sports car (right?) and we can't expect it to be silent and smooth. I've beat on this car so hard and it's surviving more than ever, as another had mentioned.

Besides everything else, rattles are the only thing annoying me as of now. The pros of this car really outdo the cons, no matter how harsh we think of them.

AND I mean...come on. Even luxury cars have issues.

(Not flaming you or anything, just sort of ranting).

I do a lot of driving... I bought the car in Late August '08 and have put 13k going on 14k in the past 4 months or so. The car has it issues, but most of them are tolerable and don't really affect my overall happiness with the car. The notchy shifts and sputtering starts are my only two bones to pick, but I really think that it could be a lot worse.

In the end, it gets me from point a to point b safely. It (eventually) starts every time I turn the key. It looks great, performs great, and is exactly what I was looking for; a performance daily driver.

Rolled 11k miles this week.

I'm replacing the clutch this weekend and replaced the tires @ 6k miles. The tires will need changed around July this year if I don't track them any more.

I've got rattles (coilovers made it worse), my seats are pulling the staples and the stock tune is super rich.

Still enjoy the car and LOVE it on the track.
