E brake question?

I've been having a re-occurring issue with my X, after parking the car in my garage and setting the e brake and letting it sit over night the car makes a loud popping noise and doesn't want to take off right away, like the e-brake it still applied? Is there a good possibility the e brake needs adjusted? Is anyone else having this problem?

P.S. I always make sure the e brake is fully released and the clutch has plenty of life left, the car moves but feels as though the e brake is still applying it's self??? I've never tracked the vehicle or modded the car what so ever! BTW it's only when the car sits over night... Thanks

Maybe try not to put the e-brake on quite as hard. If it's only in your garage you can probably get away with 2 clicks. You don't need to pull it all the way.

It grabs pretty nicely.

Did you wash your car the day before by chance?

The brakes could simply be sticking or freezing to the rotor temporarily depending on how cold it is outside and how warm the brakes get.

If your brakes got wet there could be temporary rust on them. This happened to me a few days ago after I washed it. It took some hard gas to get it to "pop".

Yeah I live in Ohio and I do wash my car and it rains/snows a lot so this could be a determining factor! I notice my brakes usually stink after I get out of the car, so it could be the whole "hot then cold" situation fusing the brakes to the rotors... I bought some hawk brake pads so maybe I should swap the pads out and see if this relieves the issue, not that it's really an issue just gotta be careful or the car will stall since I give it little to no gas taking off. Thanks guys!

It's the pads freezing to the rotor .
