Come on now Mitsubishi... Seriously?
my little brother took a sledge hammer to my moms hood on her xterra and only left a tiny dent, paint was still there.
had that happened on my ****ty evo x, i woulda had the paint peel right off like a scratch off lotto ticket

I have a feeling if he took a sledge hammer to your mother's car, paint wouldn't be the first problem on my mind.
Didn't read the last 5 pages, but the A-Pillars aren't on properly. I've had this problem, if you put them on properly it wont fall down or sag or anything. Take a second look at them and find the problem!
Dealership glady fixed my loose C-pillar with a new clip which they said was redesigned - not sure if it really was redesigned, or if the old clip just wore out for some reason...haven't had a problem since.
So let's see... Mitsu made the X heavier, slower, and added "luxury" items to move the car upmarket. As I see it, they failed on both performance and luxury value. I know most Evo buyers probably won't consider this, but for the price of a new Evo, you can also get an Infiniti G37, with far more luxury than Evo will ever have. 3.7L V6 with 328hp ain't too shabby either. 0-60 time matches that of X MR too...
What exactly is Mitsu trying to accomplish with these slower, low quality Evo X anyway? If Mitsu isn't serious about turning the Evo into another luxo sedan, they need to focus on performance NOW! I want that FQ360, for the price of MR!

My plastic panels don't fit right after the hood latch install either. I wish I could've just done it myself. They wouldn't just give me the pieces because then it wouldn't be "covered under warranty". They broke two of the tabs that I can see. I will be taking it all apart and putting them back in correctly this weekend most likely. Also, they scuffed the panels up

Sorry to hear about the aggravation. Nothing worse than wanting to love a car and having problems left and right. My answers are below... my car is still fairly new... (I am at almost 5 months and 5k miles).

- Looks like somebody took a shotgun to the rear door area due to rock chips <Only a couple of very small nicks in the front. Nothing like some of the issues I see posted.
- Seats constantly coming apart (fixed by an upholstery shop)<No issues.
- Interior C pillar coverings randomly falling off <My passenger side C pillar is loose, and cannot be re-attached. After closer inspection it looks like the fastener broke when it was assembled. Need to take it into the dealer for replacement.
- Rattle in dash, near windshield, that neither I or the dealer can find. It's driving me crazy. <Nothing noticeable yet.
- Rattle under steering wheel that was 2 nuts that weren't even finger tight.
- Car hesitates at 5K RPM. Stealership refuses to reflash <No hesitation whatsoever. Some rough idle at times, but car runs like a champ.
- MAF is blown right now. Driving round in limp mode until I can get it taken care of <Have never had any MAF issues.
- 2nd & 3rd gear still grind. Stealership says nothing is wrong <Slight notchiness when cold, but never had grinding.
- Car still smells like burnt clutch everytime I get on the gas in earnest <Only smelled clutch a couple of times when stop & go on a steep hill.
- Is it really this slow? <No complaints. I running an AP with Stg 1 map. Car is quick.
- Had the hood latch recall done (although mine was fine) and now the plastics down there don't fit right <The cable is tight, but haven't brought mine in yet for the replacement.
I will protect the X in most terms, build quality I cannot! It also has failed to start on me at times and I have to turn the key over 3 or four times before it starts. The X isn't slow by any means, for those who think it is, they should be kicked off the board! 4.7 to 4.9 is a great time and the car handles better than any car I've ever been in, I honestly believe the FQ400 will devour the GTR on a road coarse! That being said, Mitsubishi cut too many corners to keep the price tag down and in the end we paid for it, I honestly believe they tried giving us the most bang for your buck and the quality really suffered... Like I said, some days I don't regret it, other days I do! All I know is it's the best looking car I've ever seen (period)!
i had two audis before i bought the x, and all the problems aside look at the car it is an aggresive looking car that puts a smile on my face every time, put a deposit on an s4 waiting to see how that looks and if it does not put a smile on my face i,ll keep the evo
I shall take my car to the dealership tomorrow at lunch time.
I share your sentimens. However, does the econo car with no rock chips have a wide fender?
