Just got the Fuel Line Recall Letter and my thoughts
With that said though, it's always a crap shoot taking your car to the dealership for warranty work with your aftermarket tune still intact. I always unmarry my Cobb AP before taking my Evo in to the dealership.
Besides them reflashing your tune, there isn't any proof they can detect it yet. Some mentioned a possible "ECU flash count", but no one has found any evidence of that either yet. The good thing is if you take your aftermarket parts off before you head in, and they flash it back to stock, it won't hurt anything.
I'm here now waiting to get the recall done with the AWC reflash. quoted about 1.5hr with an oil change. Hasn't mentioned anything about my aftermarket parts.
Well looks like I shot myself in the foot. They are charging me a half hour labor fee for removing 'extra' stuff. All I have is an intake. Fml. And they can't do my oil change due to my vehicles height.

since you're in lorton, va you should put your car on the autotrain and take it somewhere else
HA. You know I thought the same thing when I went to go take a look at the car in the service bay. I looked at the lift pads and he could have gotten it up in the air. Hell, at my job if we can't lift it on the two post lifts, we use floor jacks. What a lazy *** I thought.
Not to mention they added a half hour labor to my bill because I had an aftermarket UICP, which is fixed and can't be moved around like the stock piece. He could have clearly worked around it. Oh well, I'm not one to stir up a **** storm since I know what it feels like. On the other hand, they gave me a free oil filter which I thought I had paid for.
At least I had great Thai food across the street.

While at the dealership getting my front rotors turned, they ordered the fuel line and hood release recall parts without me even mentioning it. Cortese Mitsubishi is one of the most proactive places I've ever experienced.
They didn't hear about the AWC flash yet but he said if it applies to my car they'll do it without question as well.
There shouldn't be a need if they are careful. I pulled mine off a few weeks ago to install the UR fuel filter but the performance shop on Thursday pulled the lines, fuel rail, and swapped the injectors without removing it. Experienced mechanics know how to work around things.
I just had the fuel line replaced yesterday at Rockville
They were gr8!
The job took almost 2hrs.
They told me I had another recall on the car which was for the hood latch cable that they also replaced.
WTF!? They already replaced my cable 3 months ago, lol. When I told them that they looked in the system and saw that yes it had been replaced but hadnt been cleared in the system. So I could have gotten my car back a lil earlier but no big deal.I didnt have anything else to do.
They said at least we are sure now its good.I said I wouldnt want the tech doin more work he didnt have to do.But good experience iether way

Ok so I came home tonight and found the letter waiting for me,and a few thoughts ran through my mind. Now some of you my have remembered the post I put up a couple weeks ago about a warranty issue when I went to visit my closest Mitsu dealership for just an oil change. If not, here it is:https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-warranty.html
Ok so after that experience I know I wont be goin there for anything ever again!
I read the first post about the new recall a few minutes ago and notice threads about ppl upset that once again they have to put their X's back to stock b4 they go for this recall. After not too much thinking(Actually a fews seconds)I know i will not be putting my car back to stock(possibly never doin that)and im goin to the dealer that put the aftermarket mods on my car and did the hood latch cable recall at the same visit.Because they told me that voided my warranty for work they did is highly unlikely not to mention unexceptable.
But like i said the thought of doin that stock thing did pass my mind for a sec.Ima try to go when their doors open tomorrow morning to see if they can do it and what they say...
P.S. I love my X!!!!!!!!!!
