Just got the Fuel Line Recall Letter and my thoughts
What if...
Well, that's not my problem... The only thing that concerns me is if they take to long to proceed and then we get a blown engine or major damages to the car. Their is good chances that I won't be to happy...
It is a slim, metal fuel return line that runs over the top of the fuel rail. There is another lengthy thread about it. I wouldn't return my car to stock over this...it's supposedly a $25 part if you decide to buy one and diy.
I just came back home from Rockville Mitsu.Manager told me they have the part and that I would be the first X there for the fix.But there always so backed up and they told me it would take 2-3hrs.Im a lil shocked but whatever.I even asked about the mods I had on the car.He said not to worry so no way im goin back to stock for this.He said the extra hr or so is just a precaution for the fix, but i made a appt for next friday

BIG
4 birds and 1 stone....Took my X into the dealer this Am to have the fuel return line taken care of and got everything done at once...........Hood latch cable, even though i had no problems with mine it now opens with a pinky..........fuel return line......ECU reflash for high RPM hesitation and crappy idle upon some cold morning starts......AWC ECU reflash.they saw the bulletin and proceeded to flash the car....
Totally easy........
Totally easy........
SCM Was really good about the whole ordeal, I also had a piece of tape removed from my spedometer that somehow got in there. I Don't believe they checked the flash or anything, I also need to get my seat fixed (staple) and was talking to the service guy up there and hes like "oh you can just get it done at the dealership by your city,, oh wait.. have you modded your car? (yes, cb and intake,) oh then you better come to us, because we dont rat people out for mods and void their warranties"
Unless you go and try to get your drivetrain replaced when you wreck it with 600+ hp, SCM is very fair and understanding. If something breaks and its not your fault, I'm 98% sure they will work with you to fix it. However, its the people who blow their own $h%^ up and go try to get warrantied that screws the rest of us.
In conclusion, SCM is a very fair dealership, and in my honest opinion, won't void your warranty for any minor-medium mods.
