Just got the Fuel Line Recall Letter and my thoughts

Ok so I came home tonight and found the letter waiting for me,and a few thoughts ran through my mind. Now some of you my have remembered the post I put up a couple weeks ago about a warranty issue when I went to visit my closest Mitsu dealership for just an oil change. If not, here it is:https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-warranty.html

Ok so after that experience I know I wont be goin there for anything ever again!

I read the first post about the new recall a few minutes ago and notice threads about ppl upset that once again they have to put their X's back to stock b4 they go for this recall. After not too much thinking(Actually a fews seconds)I know i will not be putting my car back to stock(possibly never doin that)and im goin to the dealer that put the aftermarket mods on my car and did the hood latch cable recall at the same visit.Because they told me that voided my warranty for work they did is highly unlikely not to mention unexceptable.

But like i said the thought of doin that stock thing did pass my mind for a sec.Ima try to go when their doors open tomorrow morning to see if they can do it and what they say...

P.S. I love my X!!!!!!!!!!

It a recall, they'll have to do it regardless if car is stock or not...Only have to worry bout them not doing any warranty work after wards

I got my letter tonight too. Called up my dealership and scheduled my appointment for next Saturday. Letter says it should only take about 30 minutes to install.

Just an FYI, you don't need to have a letter from Mitsu regarding the recall. Just call the dealer about this and they'll know what to do. Well, SCM does....

Had mine replaced this past Tuesday. Took about 45 minutes. Mine is the first one they had done though.

Oh well, good thing I'm in a hunt for a daily driver. I can search for it while I wait for my recall to be done on my X

The problem is, that if the mechanic see's the parts, they can void the warranty on the spot just because. Why that is, i don't know. Maybe they just like to F people over.

Happen to me, with my old car. When in for a blow speaker. Guy some my hard pipes, and voided my power train warranty.

Silly question, but a need to know answer.

What are the odds that they will hook up to the ECU to see if it's been tuned/flashed for this work (yes I understand the fuel return line has nothing to do with the ECU, but I just want to be sure)?

i'm currently on deployment overseas. what exactly is this recall about? is it just replacing a fuel line, or is there more involved?

Fixed it just yesterday and did an oil change. It took a total of 1 hr..

It was an easy fix.
