Yeah, I told the mitsu dealer I was working with that I preferred a 2011 to a 2012 due to slight performance differences and they LITERALLY said to me:

"it's amazing what people will say just because they can't afford the more expensive car

performance difference???? right. good luck."

this was http://www.donherring.com/ in plano texas, do not go there with your business. i called the guys manager to tell him what the sales person said to me and the manager SIDED WITH THE SALES REP. WHAT!? I said you just lost 35 grand.

Strange, Don Herring has a pretty good reputation. On a side note today was their MOD (Mitsubishi Owners Day) event.

I almost bought an Evo from Don Herring, but a local dealer happened to have the EXACT car I was looking for, model, color, packages, etc. and got me a really good deal on financing, they saved me several thousand dollars, none of that TTL bull****, no down payment, military discount, etc.

Don Herring called 3-4 times, set up appointment and followed up after I cancelled. They were very polite in dealing with me, reminded me that they offer performance parts, services, and upgrades for any future needs.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.

The X is a great car, the best dd I've ever owned (puts a smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel), but yeah, some of the older Evo/WRX's are better in terms of raw feel and performance.
