This is accurate the new evo x came with new software that has an ignition counter on it think it was 2012 or 2013 so when flashes back ur ignition turn over are rest and they can see how many time the motor has been started and look at ur mileage and that’s how my friend got nailed

None of this is accurate.

There is a flash counter. There is a CVN number that changes with flashes. That is how they check. We even have the HEX location. 100% accurate. All model years for Evo 10. 2008-2015.

It's 2020, no need to take wild guesses anymore.

Not that it even matters anymore since all EvoX's are out of the 5yr powertrain warranty by now unless you bought a 2015 in late 15 or 16.

And I still think its valid that if you're worried about warranty you have no business modding your car.

Indeed, but it does matter for smog in some states.
