The wing is growing on me. I just wish it were a wee bit smaller.... Mine seems to block out the Cop hiding spot.

Nice photo, but that doesn't make you wingless. You still got a lip wing~

When you have a few free minutes, please google both "wing" and "spoiler." TIA.

That is what I did before I left the comment.
I understand what you trying to say. Nowadays, a lot of people has already confused with spoilers and wings already. However, most of the people around me would call it a wing when they see something install on the trunk, so I thought that was understandable.
Generally, it is nothing wrong to call it a wing nowadays. (Techanically, it is). Right now, there are even product like wing spoiler to confuse people more.

Here's what I found. I got the GSR with the low wing thinking it would get less attention (I got the car because it is fun to drive, not to get noticed), but low wing still got me medium teenage awareness and high law enforcement awareness.

So I decided to go duck bill (VIS) to make the car not stand out as much, but still have a little something at the back of the car.

When I got the trunk I put it on my car unpainted (CF) to transport it to the body shop, but since Sandy came and my appointment got delayed, I drove with a CF duckbill trunk for a month. Reaction I got was less law officer awareness, but teenage racer awareness went off the charts. I had everyone wanting to race me and it was really annoying. Looks wise, at first I liked the CF, but the car at night (I have a white one) looked stubby because the bulge in the middle of the trunk disappeared in to the night.

Now with painted duckbill trunk, it is great. No law enforcement notice, and teenage racer notice is almost gone, except I do get thumbs up now, which I never got before. In terms of looks, the painted duck bill is much better than I expected. The car appears longer, lower, and wider. It makes the car look much more muscular in my opinion. Plus I can see perfectly out of my rear window now. I think it is a good compromise to people who want a little less attention, but still want a little oomph since it is an Evo.

We're not most people. We drive Evos. We can and should use the correct labels for things.

And before you say "who cares!?" let me tell you a little story. Back in the 90s, everyone called the compressor bypass valve on their DSM a "blow-off valve." No big deal, right? We all know it's not really a blow-off valve, but as long as everyone knows what you're talking about, it's fine. But then there's a protest against a DSM at a national-level autocross for changes to - you guessed it - the "blow-off valve." You see, the rules were written by people who knew the difference and you can't touch a blow-off valve, even if changes to compressor bypass valves are OK. The protestor cited, amongst other things, the huge number of posts on the internet - including some by the protestee - that called the thing a "blow-off valve." The protest was upheld and it took a full-fledged rule change to get things back to where they were before the protest.

Still saying "who cares!?" Well, spoilers can be modified or added to an ASP EVO. Wings cannot. Calling these things by the wrong names could just make the same sort of thing happen again.

So, please, if air goes under it, call it a wing, but if air can't go under it, call it a spoiler. Thanks.

You are right about that "We" are the "most people", but I was talking about the "most people". I am sure a lot of people in this website do not drive an EVO. All people can access and leave a comment, "We" are just the minority.

You told me to google it, and let me tell you something. Same result of products appear when you search either one of the words. What is more, I just found out there is product call wing spoiler, too.
Anyways, I am not saying you comment and definition are wrong. I have no problem with your definition. I agree though.

Car came with the short spoiler, looks so much better with it removed. The big spoiler looks good, but the little one not so.

Not too big fan of the EVO X wing, but it came from the factory and i don't hate it enough to remove/change it.
