Removing panel to access fuel pump

I've removed the panel under the rear seats to get to the fuel pump several times and I dont think it's sealing good anymore. Anyone know what that black sticky stuff is or what to use in its place?

You should be able to just throw it back on, it should still be sticky enough to get a good bond. Then when you add your rear seat back in and get someone to sit there, it will keep it pressed down to get it to seal right. As for what it is, im pretty sure its just normal Sealant

3M Strip Caulk

it's sold 60 foot increments at commercial supply shops. If you need a foot or two (should be plenty), PM me your address and i'll mail you a couple strips. Otherwise, a box of 20 yards is about ~16 bucks

The reason I say i dont think it's sealing good is b/c when I fill up, if put more than 3/4 of the tank of gas, I can smell it real good in the cabin.

it's not that then...you probably snapped off one of the threads that bolts the housing cover itself on. You need to pull that out and see what is going on ASAP. The cover with the strip caulk is literally just a cover. You might also want to make sure that you have the big O-ring installed properly.

Unhappy Part number for fuel pump access panel

Hello, I am looking for the part number to EVO X fuel pump access panel. The evo I bought is modded and I need to access the fuel pump under the seat, but the ghetto person who put the lid back on use some time of glue and I feel if I force the lid off I will bend it. I am looking for another one, but having a major problem finding that specific part. Any help would be nice.

5950A007 is what you're looking for. Shows discontinued so, good luck!

It should be the same on all Lancers so you should be able to find one in a junkyard pretty easily.
