RECALL- Manual trans Evo X's
Installed $400 AMS unit. F'ing A that is expensive. Anyway, that is a moot point because I have reached the threshold in my effort to seek re-imbursement. Obviously MMNA wants to recall because of the liabilities posed. They didn't do it on my car. And they balked at the opportunity to confirm it was replaced. They want pictures of the AMS unit but for some reason they didn't want to take pictures. They are idiots. It doesn't matter anymore. If there is ever an accident, they know damn well, I'm going to blame the CMC and sue them, and so do you, don't play naïve.
Some of the above makes it sounds like you already replaced the CMC. (Why else would you be asking for reimbursement?) But other parts of the above make it sound like you still have the defective version of the part in your car. (Why else would you be going on about failure of the part and/or failure to conduct the recall.)
Which is it?
If you replaced it with another OE piece, then you're eligible for the recall, but not reimbursement. If you replaced it with some other piece, such as that from an 8 or 9, then you're eligible for reimbursement only if you replaced it in the last year or so.

You can sue anyone you wish.
But the odds of you winning anything when you have made an unauthorized modification to the car and it failed are rather low.
The question is when you replaced the CMC. If it's in the last year or so, then you can be partially reimbursed. If it was before that, you won't. Pretty straight-forward.
Why not tell us when you replaced the CMC so people reading this thread can know if you have a legitimate complaint?

To my Great Friend Iowa999,
As is indicated in the previous post, Mitsubishi wants pictures of the CMC in my Evo X. Do you want copies of the receipt also? Or are you just slow on the "up-take"? Let me clear this up for you and those reading this thread. Mitsubishi would not be interested in taking pictures of the CMC in my Evo X unless they had clear evidence the CMC was replaced in the past year. So, you and those reading this thread, are safe in assuming the CMC in my Evo X has been replaced within the past year. and to quote one my long time and most sincere friends, 'pretty straight-forward'.

Wow. I had no idea that one could leap from "X wants pictures" to "Y replaced the part in last 12 months." Thanks for teaching me this. If nothing else, when I next click on a naughty link and someone asks me to post a picture of myself, at least I'll now know to admit that it's all original equipment (minus what the mohel took, of course).
Out of curiosity, to what can one leap from "sending them the pictures they asked for, so I can get my money"? Must be really nasty.

Just got mine done today and thank god I unmarried my AP to the care before I went in! They also did the ECU recall w/o informing me but whatever. The clutch seems to have some free play and then it grabs! The friction point has become smaller, but I dunno it kind of feels more direct now. As long as it doesn't crap out of me anymore, I'll live with the new feel.
I picked up my car yesterday, all my worries went away. Clutch feels a little different, didn't notice it at first but seems to engage quicker. I like that. Don't really see what the ECU flash did but I asked the guy and he said he'd do it if it were his car so i gave them the go-ahead.
Dropped mine off at Peruzzi in PA Monday night so they could work on it first thing Tuesday morning. I got a call from Justin before they started working on it asking if I had an aftermarket tune because they were going to flash the ecu and didn't want to write over it. After they finished they asked if I wanted to get an oil change (The car says I'm due) which I declined and said I would do on my own and Justin said to just keep my receipts for such things to keep the warranty intact.
"Stickiness" appeared to be gone while getting into gear for the first 20 minutes of my drive home but it's most definitely still there. If there is any difference to the clutch engaging it's very very faint.
Overall I was happy with the service and the calls I received to make sure we were on the same page. I would definitely take the car back to peruzzi if I would ever need to do so. Good bunch of guys over there in service and sales.

Just got it finished today. Clutch feels like the engagement point is almost right off the floor which it wasn't before. Also, I asked them how much it would be to replace a light (front left parking light in the headlight assembly) and they said it would be $80 so I said no. But after they finished, the said they just replaced it for free!
Thanks Mitsu! My faith is....getting towards being restored!
