I had an appointment to take mine in last month, but then we got 14" of snow so the Evo is in storage for the winter.

I could take it in the spring for the new CMC, or what I would prefer to do is buy a metal after market unit and get reimbursed by MMC.

Has anyone that has gone the reimbursement route been successful?

They are not obligated to (and, therefore, probably won't) reimburse you for fixing the problem yourself if you have already received the recall notice.

I received the princely sum of $80 reimbursement for the Mitsubishi component of my Magnus kit, the IX CMC. Nothing for the rest of the kit, nothing for labour. Still more than I expected.

At first they denied my claim completely, saying the reimburse for OEM parts only. I *****ed about it, pointing out that the IX CMC is actually an OEM part, the only difference being that it works. Some time later they called back and said they had reviewed the case and would pay for the OEM CMC but nothing else.

TBH I prefer to have the IX CMC in there even if it did cost me more.

I have the same reaction. That's slightly better than I would have predicted. In fact, it's vaguely close to being fair.

Cool story, and old news, but...

My CMC failed about 2 weeks prior to the recall notice going out. I was sitting in the drive-thru at Jack in the Box grabbing some lunch. Tried to pull up to the window, pedal went to the floor. Luckily there were a few able-bodied young men behind me to help push the car to the parking lot. Tow and service were all covered under warranty.

I just got my check from Mitsubishi yesterday. I wrote them a very nice letter explaining my situation. They sent me $179, the cost of a replacement stock CMC. It's not what I wanted, but it's something.

Now, I need to get them to reimburse me for fixing my ACD/AYC pump.

If you pull that one off, I'll rename my first-born after you.
