I very seriously doubt this to be the case, there are limits to the production run. I know that there were only 7000 of the '03s, and I would think that the '06s will be in line with that number.

I hated the interior at first, but that instrument cluster made me tingly. The interior is starting to grow on me.

That would be interesting if it did end up being Twin Turbo, but I doubt it. A twin turbo setup would substantially raise the price of the EVO X IMO. Still I am expecting something to be different about the EVO X, may be Twin Turbo or Turbo V6, something that may **** off a lot of previous generation EVO owners. This is why I believe Mitsubishi has been so tight lip on the engine specs. If this is the case, then I believe it would be better for Mitsubishi to just release more details earlier so that purist can have the opportunity to b*tch, but eventually get over it as long as the performance of the vehicle increases.

With that said, my prediction for the new EVO X will be that the car remains a 4-Cylinder, but the 4G63 will be replaced with an all new turbo engine. I know, I know, how is Mitsubishi who doesn't have that much cash to spend, going to have enough money to develope a brand new engine for the EVO X. Well I believe Mitsubishi really looks at the EVO as one of the most important vehicles in it's lineup, and it has more to with the image of the company more so than sells. I believe the success of the EVO is very important to the mentality of the company, sort of like the Z series for Nissan. I played around with the idea that the EVO would receive the SOHC 2.4L Ralliart engine, but honestly, despite the increase displacement, that engine is no where near as capable as the DOHC 4G63. I've seen the numbers on the boosted RalliArts, and I've just not been very impressed. It is possible that the new engine for the X will be a better version of the 4G69 with MIVEC that will produce anywhere from 330-350HP. This is just my prediction and my opinion.

According to Mark Sebby, one of our resident car salesmen, there will only be 1000 MR's available... Don't know how accurate that really is though...

Actually it is. There are production limits, but they are beyond demand. Only the '03 model year came close to production capacity. The Evo isn't "limited edition' which means a set number will be manufactured. Instead they build them to meet demand.

I believe that production capacity is about 15k evos per year -- with half of which (7500) could be made available to the US market. Mitsubishi only sold 12k evos last year worldwide, which is leaves quite a bit of excess capacity.
