The Post
One thing that I don't get is why Mitsubishi is sticking with Chrysler for a chassis. Especially since Chrysler sold their stock in Mitsubishi and have no financial gain with Mitsubishi. Seems to me, Mits is looking to buy parts as cheaply as possible to keep cost down, and modifying them to perform to their standards. I also have read that many of these so called "clutchless" manuals have had problems. BMW, Mercedes, as well as Porche that have been usuing them for a while have had many recalls and complaints about them. They are just now getting it down. Seems to me, keeping up with the Jones's with this "clutchless" thing is really a fad. I do like the thought of a automatic EVO though, Hell my Mom would buy one if it was an Auto, so maybe that is what they, they being Mits, is trying to do. Make the EVO more marketable. I don't know guys, I like my 100% Mits engineered and built, Chassis and all, EVO IX. I have a feeling an EVO X with all the gadets, and the auto is going to push $40K. I am the first to call that one......The price to try to keep one uping the competition.
The Post II
I have also read in the new Motor Trend that the new Chrysler/Dodge Caliber SRT4 is supposed to have 300+ HP and possible AWD. You can kinda put two and two together on this one guys........mmmmm We will see, I still don't get the link of the two companies anymore since the Diaomond Star group is no more. Meaning Chrysler and Mits. I am scratching my head on this one. But, a Caliber Chassis, maybe sharing and engine, awd system....mmmm makes you think doesn't it.

Just becuase Chrysler no longer owns a stake in Mitsu doesn't mean that can't continure to collaborate on projects. That seems to be a tough concept for a lot of people around here to wrap their heads around. In that case, this site should keep most of you busy for a long time:http://www.jama.or.jp/world/tieup/tieup_1t1.html
Mind you it is dated March of 2005, so the former 20.7% DCX state in MMC is still on there. As you can see there are a lot of companies that work together and don't own any portion of their partners.

^^^ In reference to the last few posts, DaimlerChrysler is using the Mitsubishi platform, NOT the other way around. There are a couple of indications of this a few posts back. You all can relax. DCX will have not say in the development of the Evo X. And you can bet Mitsu won't let the Evo be upstaged by a Caliber SRT!

appearantly) that shows the S-AWC or Super All Wheel Control and how it ties together the Active Steering, Active Braking, Roll Control Suspension, ACD, and Super AYC. It also shows the buildings that Evos are built in, and it looks like 2 old sheds.

So back to the EvoX at the ring, I think we've decided to get one as our next car. I'm going to keep the X close to stock and keep the VIII as our little race car.

haha....
used an RS shell.....no rear wiper, alum roof, mirror-less visors. Lets not worry about wheel width excitement on the X (I like many use 18/9.5's on my VIII) I wanna know whats cookin under the test hood of the new car due in only 12 more mos? Is that a chick rolling shotgun? No wonder they get sexual harrasment suits at corporate....shes probably all hot and worked up by big boys skillz?
One last thing...anyone else notice whats up with the headlamp housings bulbs?

. Also, not having to shift gears when it's inconvenient can be priceless. Don't forget, it has not one but 2 clutches... It's definitely not a clutchless car... It has no torque converter, but that's no great loss. I think it's gonna be a great car and definitely worth waiting for
To the haters, I bet you guys are the first one to be trading your current evo when the evo x comes out. Stop hating, since when in the evolution history did mitsubishi disappoint on a new evolution? I think the evo x will be sick period....

Like I said previously, I'm planning to get one, but I can see how it's not the car for everyone...MOST everyone on here probably. It's pretty clear that the car is going in a different direction to entice a larger market...a larger, easier-to-drive car that is not so cutting edge. (like CutCo, or EdgeCom...or InterSlice
(who get's that one?))

Let's hope they're wrong!
