those belts, seats and flashy bits will never see production. I would never ride in a non-caged car that had 4 point belts. A rollover crash = instant death because your upper body can't move...

How will be possible a flat torque band with a single turbo configuration?

I would like to know if the new X will bring something different like twin turbo, one small for low rpm and one big for high rpm or a compressor turbo engine.

Notice that the new Golf GT already has a compressor turbo engine. It is a 1.4L with 200hp and flat torque band.
but isnt the whole point of calling it an evolution is that fact the 4g63 engine has gone through 9 different changes. now if the x is all brand new including the engine.

i wonder how much of the production x will be different from the concept 10.

Interesting point. But... one could say that it evolved from the 4g63.

The 4G69 maybe not be as great an engine as the 63, but it has more potential than that. A boosted 69 puts down ~ 250hp and 260 torque around 7-9psi, not bad numbers at all. Keep in mind there is little aftermarket support so the potential hasn't been uncovered yet. You are right, theres no way the X will be sohc.

I know, I know, how is Mitsubishi who doesn't have that much cash to spend, going to have enough money to develope a brand new engine for the EVO X. Well I believe Mitsubishi really looks at the EVO as one of the most important vehicles in it's lineup, and it has more to with the image of the company more so than sells. I believe the success of the EVO is very important to the mentality of the company, sort of like the Z series for Nissan. I played around with the idea that the EVO would receive the SOHC 2.4L Ralliart engine, but honestly, despite the increase displacement, that engine is no where near as capable as the DOHC 4G63. I've seen the numbers on the boosted RalliArts, and I've just not been very impressed. It is possible that the new engine for the X will be a better version of the 4G69 with MIVEC that will produce anywhere from 330-350HP. This is just my prediction and my opinion.

yea that is true too. but i guess i wont be good enough for all the evo fanboys haha. i honestly dont think the x will be out anytime soon. i mean ix just came out, and what a one year production run. not very cost effective. btw you live in vallejo? haha wanna get rid of that wicked white wing and go wingless?

No way is the final production product going to look like this. It's a sales pitch concept by Mitsu.

I'm hoping for direct injection on an aluminum block and Mivec with variable timing and lift on both the intake and exhaust cams. I don't think it's all that unrealistic. Given the current power improvements on the 9 from just a reflash with Mivec on only one cam and only controlling cam timing (could be wrong on that) I think a broad torque curve with quick spool up is easily attainable with all the improvements I've listed above. The direct injection will be big help from what I've seen with the new Audi 2.0T.

The only part that scares me is the manumatic paddle shifter. While their won't be any roached clutches, it seems not many manufacturers get the shift action right on these.

i doubt that they are going with the paddle shifter. if they added that to the x the price of the x goes up. plus it will be harder to service. all those features from the concept car will most likely be in the production car, ie headlights steering wheel seats ha almost the whole car. i bet it will keep its current shape. and thats it.

They are using "transparant aluminum" for the roof it appears lol.. good question as far as wha that actually is.. might just be some weird lighted roof or something.

from the PDF download...
The interior lighting uses pale blue indirect illumination that lends a soulful
sense of composure to the taut, mechanical atmosphere of the occupant space.
