I am sure they will come out with a manual, but once they have perfected the Semi auto gearbox/ Paddle shifters, there will be no turning back.
this will be great news for Mitsu, it would remove the Human error of changing gears.
less warranty issues with the drivetrain.
Personally I am looking forward to the new gearbox.

There are a buttload of nines. Yesterday I had a dealer search for me and they pretty much can get any color or model I want. Its as simple as a dealer trade.

Me too, sort of I know whatever they come out with will probably be better at shifting than a human is, after all, that's the point. I guess I just like shifting and working the clutch. I know the new gearbox will be better than me, but shifting can be fun, and when you get it right you fell like a hero. I haven’t had too much experience with the manualmatics… I remember driving an Audi S4 with paddle shifters. I kept forgetting to shift gears; maybe because there was no clutch. All I accomplished was very bad gas mileage. In time I suppose I would get use to it, maybe I could even come to like it. It’s hard to tell.
I guess we have to make room for progress

i read on msn that the ten will have the intake in the center of the hood area, sounds interesting.....as for the paddle shift, Ferrari does it so it can't be a bad thing, so do f1 cars and the enzo(the pinnacle of cars)

Will the EVO 10 really be out in the fall of 2006, or do you think it will be early 07?

Oh jeez, I hope it's 07 because I want to have the time to save up for this beauty... finally we get something that doesn't look like it came out of a box of RICE krispies!!!!

I know it's not as rally bred looking and all, but I've never been able to stand the looks of the evo, or the sti for that matter.

If they charge more than 32k for it I'll probably buy something else. I think it'll be right around 30k. I doubt there will be anything but the base evo the first year.. most likely the MR (or equivalent) will take a couple years to surface.

partially true.

however, take a look at it this way. 40k in 1996 is a hell of a lot different than 40k nowdays. back then, 40k were luxury car prices, now it will get a fully loaded Accord or an Evo, hah. they'd have to price it at 55k or so to price themselves out like the Supras.

the only thing that worries me is the rear bumper making it here......I'm guess not unless they can figure out how to get the crash beam behind it.

I don't think 35-38k is unreasonable. For a 300hp all wheel drive car that looks as good as the X is, they should fly off dealer lots.

A top end V6 Toyota Camy is 30 grand. 25-30 grand doesn't get you a whole lot these days.

Evo X wont be cheaper than the current model. People will pay $40k for the top of the line Evo no problem. People pay that now on MR's with dealer markups.

Anything over $40k will hurt sales unless the X has 350+hp and Lexus build quality to justify that price.

The only problem I see is that at > $40k the EVO will be cross shopped against the Audi S4. The Audi no doubt is far better build quality than anything we've seen so far from Mitsu.
