Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
no offense, but this is ridiculous. first off, why would the new evo be more similar to the base than past models. the new evo has even more additions to the already crazy awd system and suspension than ever before. and second, why are we talking about people making a base lancer "look" like an evo, as if that's cool. I mean the base lancer is fine and everything, but it's no evo, no more than a 2.5 RS is an STi. just let the car be what it is. I mean, you could probably buy a kit car Ferrari and make it look like an f430 with a honda civic motor hidden under the hood, but that's just not cool, sorry. I'm not badmouthing the base model lancer, but if you want an evo, spend the money on one, and if you can't afford one, then just be content with your lancer, which is a good car.

I agree. I rolled with a IX for 6 months, it was great. I never like any of the old Lancers.
i have the new Lancer, and i am not even thinking of modding mine to look like an X. I love the new GTS.
I plan on using this car to trade in for the X. I am looking to get the MR but who knows?
I wanna steer away from a stick, but ........
Pends on what the price is. I am NOW leaning toward the 135I now. Great looking car, performance and interior 2 tone is beautiful.

....And FOR THE RECORD...I WANT AN EVO. I'm not against the evo's or really having 280+ HP. I'm just playing devils advocate a bit, and saying that there are people who prefer styling over performance. No disrepect to you guys that are like super fanactics of speed and handling.
has thought of this when designing the electronics, but I wouldn't count on it...l8r)
I'm guessing that all of the MR/SST owners are going to be in for a rude awakening when it comes to modding. If Mitsu's SST is anywhere near as integrated as Audi/VW's DSG, then it's not going to be mod friendly _at_all_. Something as simple as an MBC would potentially throw off the entire shift pattern. Hopefully

THE NEW X LOOKS NICE BUT IT IS TOO HIGH OFF THE GROUND And that always implies econo box to me... when you thing super car or sports car you think low to the ground and wide stance.. not tall an narrow... Car companies and their ad agancies know this cause any time you see a glamor shot of a car in an ad it is always lower than the one you see on the dealers lot...
and btw, the comment about cars always be lowered in advertisements is not true. that's ridiculous. cars that are too high from the factory can look better when lowered, at the expense of ruining the suspension geometry. it prematurely wears out the shocks, and the bump and rebound characteristics of the shocks are then incorrectly set for the springs that have been swapped. the evo is one of the best handling cars in the world, and are always dialed in very precisely from the factory. you'd have to be an idiot to put lowering springs on a evo. if you have to have that lowered look, then buy a set of extremely high end coilovers, and hope to god that the person tuning them is even half as good as the mitsubishi engineers. good luck with that. besides, i guarantee that the evo is capable of more g's around a corner than your capable of handling.

Yes, they are called posers or ricers. The bulging fenders, hood vents and wide tires are there for a reason, not just for looks.
I guess I'll be having another white Evo in the future. That showroom shot is great thanks.
