Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
what's not to like? the car looks more sporty, more aerodynamic, and more refined in every way. of course, you drive an rsx, so I guess you're not really a sports car fan. hondas...all the lag and yet still no turbo. it's like waiting for bad sex.

2. I think I've heard that line somewhere before.
the comment was about hondas in general. and his being "boosted" is a joke. it's still a honda. if he's going to insult the new car, then i'll fire back.

Whatever, we're here to talk about the new car, let's try to stay on topic. If you don't like the car, and you don't even own an evo or comparable car, then why are you here? I think i'm done with this thread, no one's really contributing much info about the new car anymore. Thanks to whoever added the pictures, those were cool. However, one thing i've realized in my time here on this forum is that this isn't an evolution enthusiast site, it's a 4g63 fanboy site. You people are completely unsupportive of the new evo, whining about the new motor constantly. Mitsubishi has spent a long time developing the new motor, and although many will mourn the passing of the old engine, the new one should turn out to be superior. I mean, mivec on both cams now, a timing chain instead of a belt, and an electronic throttle (getting rid of the old cable type that should've been replaced years ago). And the aluminum block is irrelivant to power holding capacity when the internals are all still very much forged. The new turbo uses strengthened titanium components and a larger compressor wheel, and should theoretically be capable of more boost than the one used on the evo 9, which I believe was a modified TD-05 16g. AND... despite your feelings on the car being a hair slower in a straight line (because of the added weight), the new motor DOES make more power on what mitsubishi admitted to motor trend to be a very conservative tune compared to what the motor is capable of, the reason being to keep emissions down. And don't even get me started on the new AWD system and tranny being better in every way. Look, I love the old evo, I really do, but the new one is the better overall car, from style all the way to performance. And, no matter how you look at it, the new lancer series, especially the EVO, is going to save mitsubishi's *** here in the states. So you may whine now, but when the car proves itself, which I know it will, you'll be all over this thing. I myself have already placed an order with my local dealer, one of the few that had the option to spec one out already, and have put down a deposit to have it held for me. I am excited to be one of the first to own one, and if you guys don't like the new car, then you can whine about it in my rearview mirror. Peace out.

You are right it isn't ALWAYS true, and no the X doesn't look too high to me either, however its funny he mentions that because if you look at most any promo shots of the current Eclipse compared to real life examples you'll see what he means. Even the ones in the early (and maybe current) tv spots were lowered as well as the pictures on the mitsucars.com site.
I guess I'll be having another white Evo in the future. That showroom shot is great thanks.

True, and that's something that the X was designed for, great handling plus SST. I believe the 5Speed is an just afterthought to appease the luddites. And I agree with you the moment someone gets lowering springs the car's handling is fuc-ked. Why do people do this, to look pretty? That's lame. Unless you drop five grand and properly tune your suspension don't mess with it.
It's like throwing your money away on octane boosters when all they do is neg your performance by -2%. And yeah that's proven.

i agree if i would want my car to handle better i would go all the way
a good Bilstein pss9 Coilovers + camber kit would do the trick.
alot of money but does the job right thats what i have on
my Modded Benz C230K coupe its ***ing Amazing well worth the money

WELL SAID WELL SAID ... I LOVE THE NEW EVO BUT IT IS JUST TOO EXPENSIVE.... MITSU NEEDS TO MAKE IT MORE AFFORDABLE TO GET THAT MASS MAKET EFFECT THEY WANT SOO...
NICE
