I love this thread. I was wondering about the bluetooth thing because I'm planning to buy a new evo, but wanted bluetooth (I have a TSX that has it standard). At least I know it's not standard on the GRS, but it's possible to install! It should come standard b/c Cali law is going to make it illegal to drive with a phone in hand. You have to have a headset or bluetooth.

do it man. It's really easy.....The only hard part is cutting the steering wheel for the bluetooth attachment. Just make sure you trim a little then test fit and continue like that and you will be fine.

Thanks to everyone for the detailed writeups and tips. I'm going to do the audio controls and relocate the new AWC switch to the dash position right away. I see no reason that the AWC switch should be on the wheel, and I've grown accustomed to having audio controls on the wheel.

I noticed on the Australian Mitsu site that their bluetooth kit uses a split two-button switch that fits into the blank on the dash instead of the pod on the wheel. That option wouldn't require any cutting, so it might be something worth looking into if that is an issue.

interesting, would you have pictures or part numbers?

i would more likely add the bluetooth in this case as no cutting or removing of the steering wheel is required.

I just got my factory BT installed by the dealer (kinda) with alot of interesting notes. I will start an additional thread with pictures when its fully done. A couple of notes:

1) got the module installed, mic installed.
2) AWC switch is still on steering wheel until MR wheel arrives.
3) There is an empty switch slot next to the ASC switch so that is where the AWC switch will eventually be moved. This was VERY IMPORTANT because I wanted to retain my little center cubby for ipod / cell phone.
4) Basically, everything is installed but the steering wheel controls, AWC comes in stock tomorrow and will be replaced and moved (will post pics)
5) Nav unit recognizes BT unit but cannot for the life of me figure out how to pair BT unit.

Thats it for now

I looked into this, as I'd like to keep the little cubby as well. Mitsu wasted so much space where the dash meets the center console it makes me sick. I don't want to lose any more.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any spare switch connector in there. Unless it's hidden pretty good, you'll have to splice into the wiring to use that location I'd guess.

Interestingly, there is a spare connector of some sort in there, but it's smaller than the ones in the first post.

just hit the voice button and say help after it says ready and beeps. It will tell you all the options and then just do what it says. then you're done.
