Can someone measure the MAF outlet where the 3" cone filter attaches. Most Mitsubishi MAF's are actually 80mm or 3.15". On the 3" rubber cone filter it would be able to stretch over the 80mm MAF. Reason I ask is you can use a JDM filter with an 80mm inlet if that is the correct size. My guess is that it is 80mm, but just wanted to make sure before ordering a universal JDM one from HKS or Apexi.

Thanks,
Brian

you will need a clamp if your filter didnt come with one, Mine did. the 3inch filter fit perfect . the filter sits down on the metal plate the box set on. I dont see how it would rattle, it could move some if you were 4wheeling around but for street or track it really wont move much . it would be nice to have a heat sheild and a mounting point but not really needed.

I zipped tied mine so it wouldn't move. Not the best, but until there are some different comapnies making CAI's. This will work.

Did mine today. The sound is phenomenal. Mine rattles a little bit so Im gonna have to find some way to remedy that...maybe some foam padding on that metal bar where the air box used to sit.

i just bought the HKS filter. Because the backing is a hard plastic piece, your going to need a silcon coupler to connect the filter to the intake tubing. specifically a 3inch to 3 1/2inch found at your local auto supply store.

Whick universal filter from HKS did you buy? The part number would be great. There are 3 different sized inlets, so I need to know which one you got. The 3" coupler fits on the MAF inlet and the 3 1/2" size fits on the hks filter plastic housing, correct? Have you completed the install? If so, can you give some pictures?
