Just installed my HKS Intake, wow what a difference on a butt dyno.

It realy cleaned up the top end rpm stutter. LOL

Just finished mine, sounds great and the car feels stronger as well. I did have the high rpm sputter but its completly gone now. I think this mod, or some type of aftermarked intake system is a must.

Did you guys cut off the little locating pin on the stock MAF. If not you cant get the filter to seat all the way on the MAF inlet? Mine is on, with the PIN still there, but the filter barely goes on.

Was that the HKS kit or did you just get the filter? I'm mainly curious about that elbow that attaches to the filter.

mine went underneath this, if your wont then maybe you should cut or snip it down so the filter goes on further, if not it may come off with vibration.

If you're talking about the Autozone Spectre cone. The stud will slip between the first and second ring and still give a good seal when the clamp is tightened.

I used the Autozone Spectre cone. I cut a little grove in the 2nd ring. The black pin fits perfectly in the grove, it sits nice and flush.

tried this last night, sounds great, however i think im going to go back to the stock intake...car stalled on me last night when i was exiting a hwy ...my guess would be not enough air getting to the engine? or would this incident be not related? hmmmmm

I will give that a try. Sounds like a pretty good solution.

BTW, did you guys see the stainless steel mesh filter by Spectre. It looks similiar to the Blitz SS one. It was heavy, but looked nice. It seems to be for racing or offroad, maybe it doesnt filter down to a small of a particle for street driven use, thats my gues. It was $49.99..

I would look into this, I have not had any problems, for over 700 miles and other have not seen that , No way could the car not be getting air unless you are using some very small 4 inch long filter.
