plus if you're not on track, your harness makes it basically impossible to shoulder check, at least mine does. And makes reaching certain controls difficult, if you're short armed

Don't feel to bad, I've seen a lot of people doing exactly what you did what you did in their own cars. It does make me laugh of course, almost as bad as the guys that paint their rear drums red on their econo boxes here in So Cal or the guys that paint their hoods black (with a rattle can) for that "racer" look.

Regardless, its been said enough in the thread, these are very dangerous and I'd remove them.

They would be fine if mounted using the rear seats hardware. But their not FIA spec therefore illegal and dangerous. Get yourself some Takata's or the like if you wanna play that game.
