Did this yesterday with Tein springs. Becareful when installing the front shocks back. Upper plate has markings one dot and five small dots on the opposite side. If you rotate the upper plate you can tell the angle changes. I think the one larger dot should be facing the outside towards the fender. I had some front end clunking noise afterwards. Then I change the plate position, noise is less frequent. But still can be heard and even felt from the steering wheel when moving from stop postion. Any ideas? Car only has 400 miles on it. Also made sure all the bolts are not loose including the center strut bolts...

Decided to put the first mod on my Evo X. Some Tein S.Tech springs to get rid of the terrible factory ride height. I purchased them locally at RallySportDirect: http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop...gs-p-3829.html. Thanks to Tanner from RSD for being a huge help as usual!

Here is a run down on the springs:

Front drop: 1.4"
Rear drop: 1.0"
Front spring rate: 4.2 kg/mm
Rear spring rate: 3.8 kg/mm

First off the drop is pretty ideal if you want to achieve even wheel gap. These springs are also geared to induce more oversteer as the rear rate increases more than the front versus stock and the rear stays higher. Both of these attributes will help the car to rotate better.

I've yet to see an Evo X spring install documented with photos, so I'll give it a shot. I was so impressed with the suspension and chassis design in comparison to my 8G Galant... I just had to take photos of everything.

Here are the service manual sections I referenced.

Front Suspension: http://mitsubishipowered.com/downloa...0003900-33.pdf
Rear Suspension: http://mitsubishipowered.com/downloa...0002200-34.pdf

Such a very amazing link!
Thanks you for the post.

I wish there were guinea pigs who've done this and already know how much lowering springs affect the stock shocks.

I'm tacking this soon with hand tools on my X and I ran across this amazingly comprehensive how to. Its for the previous gen but it is really the same thing.

I used this for my prokit install, and it went smoothly for the most part. The only problem I ran across was when trying to torque down the center bolts for the fronts. When using the torque wrench, I couldn't get it where I wanted it without the top plate spinning around to the wrong direction. I tried with strut assembly installed and uninstalled. So I just used the impact gun to get it good n snug then installed it.

Nice write-up, use this with my H&R..
Quick question: cause after the install and alignment I notice the FL and FR is not even..
Is the 2 camber bolt can cause this, I remember I put the FL(camber) bolt on the ryt way but FR I don't remember and its the FR is higher..
Any input??
