^ you can thers is a video on the plastidip website that would anwser alot of your questions.

My main question is for the people that had it for months at a time now. Is it hard to maintain? Bug splats, dust, dirt/mud, tar does it come off with a washing? My understanding is when its dry it has a slight texture. My thinking is the texture makes it difficult to clean once dirty. Confrim or deny, GO!

I've had my wheels dipped for about 6 months now.. I layer black down as a removable base and them sprayed over in gunmetal wheel paint, so i got the desired color and it's removable if I want.. It does have a slight texture when it's dry, varies on how many coats you apply. Oh, and I removed the wheels from the car when I did it, although I left the tires mounted on the rims.

Has anyone had any experience going through an automated car wash with plastidipped wheels? My concern is that the brushes will be to abrasive and scrape it off, I've been hand washing up till now..

I'm thinking about Plasti-dipping my BBS rims on my 2008 GG MR...any ideas of which colors may look good on it? I have not seen any GG Evo's with dipped rims. Thanks!

Jumping on the band wagon and bought some cans to do my stock wheels. Any issues or concerns with cold weather application like dry time or adhesion. I don't have much of a choice but to spray them in about 40deg weather.

Well the first time I did it I left the can in the car overnight and it got down around freezing and forgot to warm them up so it sprayed like **** so make sure the cans are room temp. If you have a garage i would try to do it so its a little bit warmer or if no garage you can do what i did clean them spray them and bring them inside to dry. Most paint has some issue sticking in colder weather.

$355 for all supplies. Colors other than black cost a little extra and there is an option if you want clear coat for a gloss look.. which costs extra of course..

There are some other things to buy to make it easier too, but that is the cheapest option..

Thanks for the advice. I think what I'll try and do is bring them inside to clean them, bring out in the garage to spray them and then bring them inside to dry. That way they'll at least warm up a bit while I'm cleaning them.
