Choosing between SRT-4 and EVO

1) Stock SRT-4's WILL beat the stock evo from a roll. Power to weight ratio is better on the SRT-4. 230whp stock 2950lbs. EVO =240whp and 3280lbs. The EVO has a slight gearing advantage for the 1/4 mile but the SRT should always pull on an evo stock for stock. Now ive heard the 05's go at 250whp so not 100% that the SRT will pull on them. Remember the "pull" i'm refering to isnt much, and driver error could EASILY put the advantage to the EVO.
2) While i have NO doubt that he finished in the last 10, you must realize driver skills makes more difference then anything. So saying he finished last 10 doesn't mean much at all.

I actually really like the SRT-4 for the money. But its not in the same category as the evo. For around 21k there really isnt a better car to get. It does respectable 14's like the 350z and rx-8 but is significantly cheaper. It IS a neon... but for 21k 230hp/250 tq? its a good buy. BUT there is a class difference between the Evo and SRT-4. Thats why the evo is 32k. Handling, acceleration, 4 doors, engine mod-ability. The evo is compared to the carrera. The SRT should be compared to a 350z (FWD vs RWD similiar 1/4 times).
i saw an srt-4 this weekend actually. we were at a light and i went forward fairly normal. we have awd so my normal is still faster than everyone. 2 seconds later an srt-4 ricer flys by me going to cut me off (hes in far right and im in far left about to merge onto the highway) and so i just downshift and gain on him like nothing and his car is screaming.
im bone stock. that was my first time being around an srt4 in WOT and it was NOT something i was impressed with. it took me alot of maybe 3-4 seconds to catch up with him when he was about 6 carlengths away on full throttle.
fast from roll my as$

First of all look at it this way an evo= all wheel drive an srt4=front wheel drive the possibilities are endless for an evo while still haveing traction while in an srt 4 when you get so far your going to have traction problems thats why i woulsd deff. choose an evo any day over an srt4

Just look at the trap speeds for both. srt-4s do not PULL on Evos from a dig or a roll. They definitely KEEP UP from a roll, but stock for stock, they do not "pull." If you're talking above 100mph or something, then I don't know...maybe they do, but what moron does 100+mph roll-on street races to determine which car is better? In a standard 30-80mph roll, the srt-4 is not faster, but then again neither is the Evo for the most part (except 05s, which will pull away from any speed).
As for the auto-x, you totally missed the point. First of all, in the 4 auto-x events I've been to this season, there have been a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 Evos. There has been only one srt-4 and that was at only one event, yet you see srt-4s all day long purging their BOVs at us...why aren't any of them actually racing where it's legal? It's because they can't compete. That _1_ srt-4 was completely unable to handle the course whatsoever, and although driver is very important, it was obvious the car could not handle the turns at ALL. Like I said, I got 5th place in my first event on stock tires/suspension, while this guy got 70th place. I may be a better driver, but I've never done anything other than drag race, so it would be hard to imagine that the difference in 65 places was driver only...
At a stop me bone stock and other 04 srt bone stock, i walked him so hard. At a downshift he walks me, From like a 10 mph roll we are dead even. Those are my experiences with srt-4s

ok i just glimpsed at this, but im gonna be very blunt about this topic. if you want straight line performance and best bang for your buck get a srt-4. Evos are better every way you look, power, looks, handling. but its your taste and your money get what you like. but if you ask here you know your going to get a biased answer, same thing will happen if you ask on a srt-4 forums. you be the judge.

As I stated in the other post Ive raced a bunch of SRT-4's and have not been pulled on at all. Difference in drivers? Ok... but 4 SRT-4's? Could all those drivers suck? No, its the car. The SRT-4 will NOT pull on the evo stock for stock.

03 Mustang GT's aren't something to be proud about beating from a roll. I've beat them and an 04 EVO from a 30 mph roll before.
The 05 EVO typically puts down 10-20 more whp, which would explain why an SRT-4 couldnt pull on you. I am not denying there is a huge difference in class. There is no doubt that the EVO has WAY better handling either. And yes, for 21k it is a fantastic deal, as is the evo for 32k.

Your thoughts?
Your thoughts?
are you kidding? It's a neon with a hood scoop and crappy wing.

They are not that great in the auto-x, no, but to take 70th and you think that is due mostly to the car is completely false. I dont think anyone is going to argue which car has better handling. SRTs "purge" their BOVs at you?? LOL ok.

usually its between the STi or the Evo...not the SRT....wow, what is the world comming to?
